Are there any mechanics that know roughly how much a small service on a ford fiesta will set me back?

Basic oil & filter change using goo quality parts.

Oil - £40ish

Oil filter - £12

Air filter - £15

Labour - £50ph is pretty average and it's only an hour's work.

Chams or Socials

Can do it yourself pretty easily if you have the time and space plus its fun learning.

North Angus

Could probably get it done for £80 if you use a smaller garage. Franchise rates are generally higher. Unless it’s a giant 4x4 that takes loads of very specific oil then you’ll be nearer £150

Yorkshire

Basic one usually around £100, full one roughly double that.

Wish my tame mechanic charged £50 per hour, my lawnmower repair man is £60+vat !

;-)

Am interim service will set you back around £130, a full service around £215 and a major service around £250

Plus any parts not included over and above that

To be honest I've used a garage once in the last 10 years or so and that was only because I didn't have access to a press to press bushes into place while my rear axle was in situ.

Hourly rates are always going to vary depending where you are in the country but £50 is a fair estimate.

Titz Towers, North Notts

It costs me £126 for a general service. The mechanic lives on the next street and has been servicing my family's cars since the 80s. It'll be a bad day when he retires
