Is there a band or artist?

"Queen
I knew about them but had no interest in them for many years despite loving music from a young age
Now absolutely gutted I didn't appreciate them until my mid 30s"
Yes I felt I was late discovering them at 16. Prior to that I was listening to Madonna, Erasure and Pet Shop Boys. Then discovering Queen I was becoming a man |

"Is there a band or artist who were around in your youth but you didn't 'discover' them until fairly recently.
I'll start with E.L.O. They are amazing, better late than never eh?"

Altered Images and ABC. I always knew about them but never fussed. Saw both bands at a festival a few years ago and they were both brilliant.
Seen them at their own shows and they were amazing. Often on my playlists now. |

The Misfits. Just didn't bother with them then fell down a rabbit hole.
Also Ghost. I dismissed them as a gimmick but I ended up loving them. I would have loved the opportunity to have seen them in a smaller venue as opposed to the arenas they do now. |

Only got into them I'm the last 5 or so years. Lucky enough to see pearl jam in London which was amazing but Eddie in his prime was different class. |

as much as I like the Peter green era the classic line up of fleetwood, buckingham, nicks, christine and John McVie was Fleetwood Mac at there best |

Not all that North of North London |
"Mudhoney, saw them live a couple of weeks ago and wondered why it had taken me over 30 years to check them out. "
I saw mudhoney many times back in the day and rated them far higher than the big name grunge acts of that time.
But somehow Sonic Youth completely padded me by, I know I tried but I just didn't rate them, now I love them |

Agree about ELO. They get played a fair bit on Greatest Hits Radio and the other Sunday, Simon Mayo played 'The Way Life's Meant To Be'. Given my age, this single would have passed me by in the early 80s. I now hear a masterpiece and have been listening to the parent album, Time, ever since. It's amazingly good. Also I never bothered much with Billy Joel, although 'We Didn't Start The Fire' I thought was one of the best and cleverest songs of 89. I now keep discovering more of his excellent work. Currently playing 'You May Be Right' which was one of his earlier singles. It failed to chart like ELO's single above. Baffling |

Too many to mention really, my older sister would be listening to depeche (depressed as I would say at the time) mode in her bedroom while I was listening to Metallica and slayer in mine and hated them! I love them now! |

Yes Billy Joel is another. As a small child all I knew was uptown girl as it was played to death. I realised in recent times, BJ did lots of other good stuff. |
