We're all products of influence, be it through family, friends, our favourite shows...with our own twists we create the characters to our own movie....us....I'm looking to see who created your personality and where it led you....my parents created me and I came from a loving home they guided me...characters like robin Williams & Jim Carey I took snippets of them with a soundtrack as broad as UK hip hop right through to Celine Dion....a product of severe diversity in family and travel has took me on a journey so far which is broad & open minded...what's yours it's quite a loaded question that can be picked and unstitched to depths that could far surpass a thread on a swingers website, but I'm listening and just intrigued about us and the complexities of the human mind |

"We all live a different one...intrigued to hear people's journeys so far."
When you tell someone the reality of loosing power supply this Winter and the same people avoid talking to you as they assumes one's lost his marbles.
There is comfort in denial. |

I don't know how I'd detach from my subjectivity to adequately answer the question.
Umm. Enid Blyton meets Roald Dahl, Foucault, postmodernism, Braithwaite, neurodiversity, some Aussie sarcasm, a mouthful of seawater and sand, and some glitter? |

It's a really interesting question OP and good to see an original thread on here .
Impossible to answer fully in this context but outside of my family I cannot understate the influence of books and music on my consciousness and understanding of the world. I can't imagine life without them. |

I think my parents and an aunt created my first reality. Following that school and friends added to the mix, then college. By far the greatest impact and influence on my life has been Mr N and our children.
Television had very little influence on my generation although Valerie Singleton and Christopher Trace were very wholesome |

Parents who didn't like me so learnt to be self reliant at an early age. Never saw myself having a conventional life but I mistakenly thought I had found it. Should have known better. Can't put a value on friendship. |

Played from 9 to 21 for bolton. Played in the PL lived my dream and had it took from me. Single dad with my own buisness. People need to love life and them selves and not listen to the haters |

I'm just a collection of atoms, moulded in a particular way from a set of DNA instructions. Nothing magical or unusual about that. That's my physical reality.
My mental reality is something quite different entirely. It's mutable, malleable, flexible, and constantly changing. Somewhere in that is me, and my consciousness.

I am a part of all that I have met and yet
All experience is an arch, wherethrough gleams that untravelled world, who’s margins fade forever and forever as we move.
How dull it is to pause, to make an end,
To rust unburnished, not to shine in use!
As though to breathe were life. Life piled on life were all too little, and of one to me little remains but every hour is saved from that eternal silence, something more. A bringer of new things… and this grey spirit yearning in desire to follow knowledge like a sinking star, beyond the utmost bound of human thought. |

Right from my first days at school I’ve always questioned what I was told and broken the rules. Not sure why, certainly wasn’t my family or surroundings. Along the way met 5 or 6 key people who played a massive influence, role modelling , mentoring etc . Media never interested me , I never followed anyone based on popularity or what clothes they wore.
I defined what I wanted - family, children, the kind of friends, spirituality, financial success etc then created it.
Reality is what you define it yes, perception is everything - but you need a way to test it.
You need to very objectively view it, reflect back what reality you want to create , observe the gap very accurately or any actions you do to fill the gap will likely be the wrong ones.
If you watch a skilled artist, sculpture or jeweller they spend more time observing than creating, each move is very deliberate and made after careful observation of the last move |

I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here: Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill? |

Reality is objective. Humans (and possibly other animals and species) perceive reality subjectively. So whatever lens (perception) you go about the world with, you make that a reality for yourself... and others you interact with, when you project you're perception onto them.
