Define sexting because people view it as something different for themselves.
Some view it as full on novel description details. While others view it as explicit flirting.
The former never really was a thing between casual people given a few exceptions.
It only really works effectively with specific people, those with good imagination and the power of word use in ways that trigger the imagination enough to cause the body to react. It's quite rare.
Lack of imagination or effective word use is more of a turn off than anything so is certainly not appealing.
The latter happens all the time, most don't fully realise they are doing it. Sexual flirting in text is still common, and is not going anywhere. It's used to build anticipation and excitement - some over do it and boast yet when it comes to it, fail to perform and deliver (men and women).

I think there’s a place for it but it’s person and relationship dependent. I guess as long as it’s not in text speak then alls good.
