I've noticed it in general but some items went up loads in price. The bread i usually buy went from about 70/80p to £1.30/£1.40.
Cat litter went up about £3.00.
Milk jumped hugely in price too. |

"I went for food and wine the other day and it was so expensive I had to put the food back!
priority first "
Food banks exist to donate well needed food: wine banks don't give the stuff away sadly. (Virgin wines and a certain shop in Lee-on-the-Sloent springs to mind) |

Definitely. Just nipping into the shop for a few bits on the way home from work wasn't something I ever thought about before - that's creeping towards a £30 hit nowadays! It's really something I need to stop doing as it adds up, but it's really hard to get out of the habit. |

"Noticed alot of items have increased in price in Asda.
Even the basic items have gone up."
Nope because I'm a cheap skate with a lot of time on my hands. If it's not on sale I'm not buying it..most of my groceries now come from Lidl and Aldi. I'm lucky that I do live in London with easy access to every supermarket chain. I also work in a supermarket so I use my employee discount on things that are already discounted.
Being raised with my cheaper skate dad means I count the pennies. I don't think dad's ever bought a branded item in his life. We gift them to him but he never buys them. |

"I noticed in Asda my strawberry jam was £1 it’s now £1.20. Bread from £0.55 to £0.60, those are off the top of my head.
I tend not to do a ‘big shop’ anymore and just get stuff when I need it. "
at that rate, please come and pick up a few extra shifts with us supermarket workers. We are always short-staffed! It's become like America now where people work 2 and 3 jobs to survive.
Then you get an employee discount and free food while getting extra money. |

All jokes aside, it’s to be expected. With the rise in minimum wage, that means overheads increase and that increase will be passed down onto the consumer.
Sadly this coincides with a certain Russian chap trying to expand his borders, pushing fuel prices through the roof.
I have a feeling I’ll be wearing my coat indoors a lot this winter! |

I clearly live the life of a Puritan monk.
Not supposed to eat lots of bread. Only a slice or two a day ( plus I can get it free at work)
I have no pets...my landlord doesn't allow them.
I can't have regular milk because it spikes my cholesterol. I have Asda Smart Price/Just Essentials Unsweetened Soy it's about 55p for 1 litre.

Previously I was too busy to nip anywhere. Now I work part-time in a supermarket so I can shop around at the competitors while getting free food and using my employee discount. Lol!
My supermarket banks on the workers in the rat race just nipping in. Hence the convenience prices!! the retired people have outsmarted them though by turning up at 8pm to get everything reduced before we close at 10 pm. |

On average by about 15 to 20% a week depending on what we need.
I have noticed some supermarkets have increased what they offer in their budget rage though. |

"Yep, even at Aldi!
Iceland are attracting a lot of new customers at the moment though."
I have really noticed Iceland have put their price up on most things to be honest it was probably the most noticeable of all the supermarkets. |

I was told they've just won an award for best prices, or something. They apparently knocked Aldi off the top spot. |

Ah yes the Hubby...aka the human vacuum of food or a food black hole. It just disappears and no one knows where they put it.
Since leaving my husband my food bills significantly decreased. Lol! |

"Yes definitely. Mince pies up too. Coke is ridiculous, £11 for 24 in Morrisons, it's was about £8 a few weeks ago. Milk, bread all up. "
I'm not allowed regulary. I only drink a small bottle at work on Employee discount ( 500ml bottle 2 days a week)so my blood sugar doesn't tank all the way down. |

They may well still be amongst the cheapest but their prices have definitely gone up considerably on quite a lot of their items. |
