Always share, that's the joy of tapas surely.
Reminds me of a date I had with a vegetarian guy at a tapas restaurant though, I stuck my meat contaminated fork in one of his dishes  |

I never go to Tapas bars, Meli. Never get invited 
The only tapas I had was at a swanky posh do in Dubai back in the day when they came around serving them on posh platters as you mingled over champagne.
I’m just a simple country boy and not really comfortable in such environments so give me a steak pie any day  |

I think it would depend who I went with and how aligned our taste in food was. If I was with my partner we would likely share everything but I don't eat meat and have some intolerances so I wouldn't always order things the other person would want and vice versa. |

Tapas is meant for sharing generally isn’t it? but what if you really like one of the dishes and have to share but you don’t like any of the other dishes? Feels awkward.
Tapas would be my last choice |

That drives me crazy. Suggest proving a meatless menu and they flip ...... serve some tasty vegan stuff and they hoover it up and leave you the chicken legs n eggs...... |

There aren't many foods that I really don't like, so I'm generally happy to share (there are exceptions dependent on company, some people have absolutely no table manners and I won't share with them  ). Alternatively I'm happy to order my own if others want to do that...I will ask for a small taste if something looks particularly delicious though  |

Wait a minute.
All bars have taps, how else do you get the beer out? Why do you call it a tapas bar, like its better than other bars or something?
Sounds stupid to me. Wouldn't go. Much prefer a Spoons, Walkabout, any reputable big chain bar.
Sharing is for losers anyway, winners take.

Aw I can’t share food. I become overcome with an awareness of how much I actually eat and then so I eat hardly nothing and end up starving and grabbing a Burger King on the way home in the car, to snaffle all alone.

Tapas don't come for free Most bars have a display of food you can order as a tapa, usually costs a couple of euros each. The tapas in England are similar recipes but served in larger portions. |

Traditionally and away from tourist areas tapas is free when you buy an alcoholic drink. It would be something like a piece of bread with cheese or meat, maybe a slice of sausage or bulls kidney. Things like patatas bravas and boquerones are traditional Spanish dished served in small portions and called “tapas” just for the benefit of tourists. The tourists then wanted it at home, the rest is history…… |

Went to an amazing bar in Girona that did some incredible food - you paid by the cocktail stick at the end. I quickly learnt that you needed to sit near the kitchen door as the best stuff never got as far as the bar |

Spanish tapas is one thing, sharing comes naturally if there's a few of you. What annoys me is my brother-in-law, who when we order a huge family Indian or Chinese meal for 18 will only eat what he orders and not let anyone else have a try, even the kids taster teaspoonful.
I like the big meal order everything have a little bit of everything.
Tapas in the UK is an easy way to make money from romantic fools. |
