Depends what your budget is. But if you can afford a bit of luxury the Lodore Falls Hotel on the shores of Derwent Water (and right next to, you guessed it, Lodore Falls) is lovely and has an awesome spa! |

Will check it out, first time we went away together was the Macdonald old England, looked at that’s and it’s nearly £600 for two nights. Can’t really justify that with the way things are at the moment! |

Glamping is expensive for camping but compares well with luxury hotels, and out of season can even be considered "cheap" - especially since you generally arrange your own food and drink. There are lots of treehouses, bell tents and shepherd's huts up and down the country you can rent for a weekend, some with a private jacuzzi or roll top bath.
Crank up the fire, wrap up in some blankets, share a bottle of wine and discuss other ways to keep warm |

"What sort of place are you looking for ?
Nothing too expensive, having young kids leaving us skint at the moment!
But more up market than a premier inn !
So you only want a hotel? "
Hotel maybe with spa |

Not anywhere in "the lakes" but been to loads around the country. Rarely disappointed. Have a browse of canopy and stars for some inspiration |
