somewhere only we know

It’s going to our 10 year anniversary later this year, looking to surprise the better half with a naughty weekend away somewhere in the lakes, any recommendations??

Depends what your budget is. But if you can afford a bit of luxury the Lodore Falls Hotel on the shores of Derwent Water (and right next to, you guessed it, Lodore Falls) is lovely and has an awesome spa!

Will check it out, first time we went away together was the Macdonald old England, looked at that’s and it’s nearly £600 for two nights. Can’t really justify that with the way things are at the moment!

"What sort of place are you looking for ?"

Nothing too expensive, having young kids leaving us skint at the moment!

But more up market than a premier inn !

Glamping is expensive for camping but compares well with luxury hotels, and out of season can even be considered "cheap" - especially since you generally arrange your own food and drink. There are lots of treehouses, bell tents and shepherd's huts up and down the country you can rent for a weekend, some with a private jacuzzi or roll top bath.

Crank up the fire, wrap up in some blankets, share a bottle of wine and discuss other ways to keep warm

Not anywhere in "the lakes" but been to loads around the country. Rarely disappointed. Have a browse of canopy and stars for some inspiration
