We have an Egg Shop (unmanned portacabin, with cctv) about 100 yards away, with a variety of eggs (different sizes, duck eggs, quail eggs etc). If you pick the biggest of the large eggs, they are inevitably double yolks. Great for fried eggs, not so good for boiled or poached though! |

( this sounds totally bolloxs but, it is true, and I have had 1 occasion before this where I had 2 double yolkers in 1 box, when I was a chef )
I had a box of 6 and each one was a double yolker. My kids went batshit. They we cracking them open and going crazy.
Was mad as shit!! The odds of having 2 in a pack are high but 6....its got to be billions to 1!! |

I buy eggs every week from a guy who brings them in a van to the pub. Every egg is a double yoker. They are xrayed at the chicken farm. And doubles can’t be put out for normal sale. They go to factory egg products or farm shops etc. I once had 3 triples out 24 |

"Used to be able to buy a box of em from Waitrose "
On Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish, he played a trick on the audience by getting them all to crack eggs into a bowl, but had given one unsuspecting member a box of double yolkers |
