"It’s a press the red button thing isn’t it? Not on the main channel. If people want to watch it they can I suppose. " exactly turn the channel and stop complaining.

"You can watch live 24hr coverage of this on the news channels.
Is there a need for this?
"
It has the macabre feeling of a telethon. Or one of those David blaine type stunts.
Absolutely no... We don't need to and shouldn't see it. |

Isn't technology wonderful..
People who can't get there, perhaps unable to because of age or illness can view The Queen laying in state..
Some may have served our country but that's by the by..
Equally people who don't wish to watch it can very easily avoid it..

Watched a bit of the news with reporters chatting to some of the people queuing to see the Queen lying- in - State , & actually asking them “ what brings you here “? Such an opportunity to give a sarcastic comment live on TV |

"Anyone else questioning whether she’s really actually in there? Seems a bit undignified carting her all round the country for days on end "
I actually wondered this too. Thought it bit strange how the family headed south straight after the death leaving the body in Scotland. |

Could've been a picture.
The BBC are falling over themselves trying to find something else to say and do about an old woman that died in a completely predictable and unremarkable fashion. Meanwhile Olivia's funeral has been forced off the front page.
I don't think this reflects the values of the country at all, if I'm honest. |

Yes there is.
You seem to be making the assumption that viewers are watching it 24 hours a day.
The reality is that people will more likely be watching a bit here and there
Nobody is making anyone watch it, so what is the problem.
As for the person bringing Olivia into, don't....
