Want to get one.

But the concept 2 is expensive.

Anyone know any alternatives that are cheaper but almost as good?

"Ever thought of a bike instead? "

Rowing is a full-body workout much better than a bike but their are a hard work and boring and hurt your butt.

I would join a cheap gym make sure you are going to be committed to healthy your lifestyle for a period of time before investing in my own equipment.

Been going to the gym for many years currently a member, but can't always get time to get there.

Have been a cyclist all my life, once again time restraints plus all the assholes who are so aggressive and dangerous towards cyclist's is putting me off.

Rowing is an amazing cardiovascular exercise so just want to get one in spare room to jump on when time is tight.

I have a water rower. Looks and sounds good (it’s mostly wood) I saw one in House of Cards and thought I want.

Great exercise find it easier on my body than running

Buy one. Do it. I managed to get an old concept 2 rower on Fb for very cheap. They will last a lifetime. Well worth the investment. Came with a PM5 monitor which I didn’t expect.

If it’s anything to do with health and wellness it’s never a cost and always an investment! Fitcoin is the most powerful currency we’ll ever have so invest wisely!

Defo buy a concept 2. Second hand or brand new. Will st forever and hold value always.

My current split is 4 x sessions a week. 2 x hiit + 2 x steady a week.

Mon. Hiit. 10 x 45 secs/45 rest

Tue. Steady. 20 mins 20spm

Wed rest

Thur. 250 meter/ 90 secs rest x 10

Fri. 23 mins at 20 strokes per min

Consistency is key. Whatever you do keep doing it!

Good luck!

I got an Opti rower from Argos during lockdown and its going grand for home use. Probably not gym standard but it is nice and tidy.

I think rowers are great as you said OP - a whole body workout

I'd stick with a concept2. Theyre just so well build and the thing people often overlook is how cheap and easy they are to repair.

Things like bearings, bands etc will go and with some odd ball brand tou might not be able to repair it. But with a concept2 the parts are super easy to get.

I've not really been keeping track of prices and products recently. But nordictrack used to do a really decent midrange one.

Less than the concept 2s but higher than the real cheap budget ones

Nothing comes close to the concept 2 in my books. As you say they’re not cheap but they’re a worthwhile investment. You can’t put a price on health.

Unless your already a rower, get a treadmill with incline

10% incline and 2-3mph. Good workout and you can do it all while browsing the fab forums

I use the concept 2 at my local gym. I love it.

Do 5000 metres each time. 35spm.

Will try and up that to 10000 metres soon.

Tiring but great fun.
