anywhere |
If your insurance is new for old I would have thought its likely you will get a new one as the chances are the parts required are obsolete.I had a similar problem with a Toshiba and it was replaced with no hassle. |

Hope you don't have an insurance excess to pay on a machine that old? |

"just checked the policy mechanical and electrical , only
ohhh well any ideas please
buy a new laptop, if its 7 years old its way past its lifetime"
Replace it, for a similar price to what you paid 7 years ago you will get a faster computer. |

Sorry OP, but in computing terms your 7 year old laptop is ancient, although you may well still be happy with it.
So it's either a new 'all singing all dancing' model, or as you're maybe happy with your current setup, you could buy a new but lowish spec model for relatively little money.
The simple fact of the matter is that if you're not into gaming, downloading and streaming films and music, then you don't actually need the very latest model. |

Defrauding your insurance pushes the cost of insurance up for everybody. Buy a new machine if your old one isn't cost effective to repair, or, if it is, get it repaired and keep using it till it dies a natural death and then replace it. |
