Seeing those men guarding the Queen's coffin for hours at a time I don't envy them. All I'd be thinking is I need a pee.

My friend is one of the guards and they start at 4am til 10pm... not a job id envy but a very proud moment when i saw him with the queens coffin

You get used to it ! Especially when it’s a big parade last one I did was inspected by the then prince Charles at Alnwick castle !

They did a documentary on the barracks a few years ago and the training is immense, it's amazing how mind over matter takes over for that level of requirement for stillness

I remember seeing that documentary.

I often think the same of those standing on guard outside the Royal palaces and residences.
