6in or 8in?

I prefer a 6in myself, as I have small hands (Size 6.5 and that's because I have a wide fat palm, otherwise I would fit a Size 6 glove).

I find 8in too long and does not offer the same agility than a 6in.

What do you prefer?

And if you have not worked out what I am talking about, I ain't telling you!

Jo you are talking to a man who may sound like he knows what he's doing in the kitchen but unless it involves a white shirt and a bacon butty he's lost xxxxxx

I know exactly what I'm doing in the kitchen, just not when it comes to cooking.

Yeah, at last!

I have a cheapo 8in one in my camping kit, however, I tend not to do too much cooking from scratch while camping, so that has to do, as I cannot find a cheapo 6in knife

I never bothered with a boning knife until recently.

It is so much easier to use to take the meat off the bones, such as a half shoulder of lamb to make a curry, than to use a big cook's knife or a small paring knife.

I don't have that many knives, just what I would consider as essentials.

I don't have the likes of fish knife or a long narrow blade one for cutting ham, as I don't do fish or have a joint of ham hanging about waiting to be carved.

if you're happy to buy on line then theres a company with a sabatier 6 inch for £7 at the moment. mind you you'd have to add p&p so it wont be such a bargain then ...unless you find other things to buy

debenhams will have them for about a tenner too .

xx

Still too expensive for a knife that sit in my camping kit

The 8in one I picked up for 3 GBP will have to do!
