Bread crusts make your hair curly?

Swallowing an apple seed will make a tree grow in your stomach?

Or more original ones?

For example I was told when really little that the pith around citrus fruits was fish (I've always hated fish). To this day I can't eat a satsuma without painstakingly peeling off every bit of pith.

I was also told that putting my fingers in a bowling ball right as it comes up the rack would cut my fingers off

My siblings liked to mess with me...

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

My dad once told me that CID stood for ‘coppers in disguise’, which I guess would have been fine if coincidentally it hadn’t come up as a question in school not long afterwards and I blurted out to the whole class

Another one “If you keep touching it it’ll fall off”.

Well I kept touching it and it’s still very much attached.

Another lie.
