Amazing city, I'll bethere on Wednesday before heading off around Morocco for a couple of weeks
Respect the culture, if you are in a Riad and try to arrange a meet you will likely be asked to leave. Even the posher hotels outside the old city walls will likely frown on it. Though if you can find a bar in the old town it likely doubles up as a brothel...
As for recommendations. Every riad has loads of excursions offered see what takes your fancy. A trip to Essouria is a long day but worth it. There's an art installation south of marrakech that looks awesome. There are plenty of old buildings worth exploring as are the Blue gardens |

Agree, fantastic city and country. The main square and souks can be a bit of a sensory overload for those that don’t like crowds / hassle but I personally love it.
And the Atlas Mountains are great for hiking.
Less than a 4hr flight and same time zone as well.
Have a great trip! |

I have often passed through on the way to the Atlas mountains. In fact it's one of the most gorgeous places in the world. The food is second to none as long as you are prepared to be adventurous. I normally spend a night there before going to the Kasbah Tamadot in the Atlas mountains..................and another night on the way back. It's a complete sensory overload and is magic. |

Agree - And if you need to get out of the madness, having a sundowner on one of the rooftop bars seeing the main square light up as the sun sets is magical.
I’m genuinely surprised by people saying it’s a shithole, what exactly were you expecting from a capital city in North Africa?! |

Yes seeing the main square change in to a heaving mass of pop up eateries is always fun to watch! |

I am finally visiting soon since my 2019 trip had to be delayed till April, then the world shut down for 2 years.
Ladies who have been, did you find the local people respectful and were you comfortable walking around on your own? I'm very paranoid about attracting the wrong kind of attention and how to handle it. |

JUST got back from Marrakech and had a great time.
If you need a guide with insider tips and knows the terrain AND won't charge you an arm and a leg, let me know as I have two we used that were top notch and didn't swindle us.
