Do you ever feel that Fabs didn’t ever intend to impose an arbitrary shelf life, or “best before” date on potential interactions, but the filters, kind of, actually do, in practice? |

as we grow older our options in certain areas become more limited.
It's possible to filter searches by people who are looking for people of your age, if you do that your experience might be improved.
It's interesting that a lot of younger men complain that their age is against them too |

I fully understand your frustration but I don't know why you feel that a design feature of the site is working in a way that wasn't intended? |

Fab doesn't impose a shelf life or a best before date
Women using their filters is nothing to do fab or how the site is run
If women have age preferences then that's there prerogative and they're more than within they're right to  |

When I was a teenager I thought people of my age now were sitting in God's waiting (No, not Hastings ) where sex was almost non-existent.
When I was in my 30s people of my age now were coasting down to retirement when their only physical activity would be working in the potting shed and "sex" was a big bag the Irish put potatoes in.
When I was 50 there seemed to be some benefits to aging as retired folks seemed chilled and happy. I started to wonder if my earlier perceptions had been off course as there was a hint that sex had not stopped 40 years before.
Now I am 65 I realise interest in sex is only marginally reduced, ability to get it up and get going is still great, experience has brought knowledge and confidence whilst the frantic pounding of my youth has reduced and, best of all, I have time in which to indulge my interests without work, kids, money worries and time constraints getting in the way.

I’m glad that people have contributed. It’s been very interesting. I’m not complaining that I’m not getting sex because I’m ageing. Rather, I was interested in how people feel about their sexuality, as we are all living longer, and being sexually active for longer. How will this affect our preferences for who we interact with, and how might this be reflected on Fabs? |

I'm in my 40s and to be honest, think I'm enjoying life now more than I did when I was in my 20s. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting old so I'm on borrowed time or that I just don't care about the little things that I enjoy life more perhaps |

I think it's useful to realise that opportunities as far as meeting someone goes are going to compare to the 'real' world. The number of people interested in me sexually diminishes as the decades roll past, I understand and accept that. Added to that there's a sizable proportion of men in my age group who if faced with the happy choice of me and a woman twenty years my junior (all else being equal) would choose the younger woman, I don't blame them.
I opt to work with what's available to me (most people who want to meet us are fifties upwards) and not be too concerned by what isn't. |

I think there's a sweet spot before you fall out of a lot of age ranges and there will be some looking for that age but not loads, and then out of that small pool, they still have to find you attractive enough to meet. It can be tough, but keep your chin up  |

Men always complain about 'age only being a number' but then are only interested in meeting younger women when there are PLENTY of women/couples around the same age as them whose age range they fit into |

There's only one lady my age within sensible driving distance...who's not chasing round after younger guys ...like the rest of the nearby 55 to 58 year olds..who seem to have stayed 55 to 58 for quite a long time lol |

It puzzles me why people bother to look at me when I'm obviously outside their age limit..my age comes up on the profile...then they look ...then nothing else happens..I must be dead ugly ..or dead ..lol |
