We were saying that though we have not had much time for meets over the past few months, it might be nice to arrange one or two over the festive season when we both have more time away from work.
This got me thinking (oooh err).
when we go to meet another couple at theirs throughout the year, we always take a box of chocs or a bottle of wine or something as a "hello, thanks for having us round" type thing, just like we do with vanilla mates.
However, when we go round to someones house over the festive period (swingers or vanillas), We usually take them more of a christmassy type item, maybe a poinsetta or some xmas gingerbread type things. So not a christmas pressent, but more of a festive variation on the host gift.
One couple a few years ago looked really shocked and made a comment about not having expected it. I always thought it was just good manners.
Would you find it odd if someone you were possibly meeting for the first time did this? |

if we're going to someones house for entertainment vanilla or otherwise we always take a gift in the spirit of the Japanese "enter house present". Although we have fairly limited experience of going to other peoples houses to play no one has ever expressed surprise. |
