For 70 years those of us who joined HM forces, police and prison service all declared an oath to her majesty the Queen.
The oath included allegiance to heirs and successors.
For those who have served and no longer do I thank you, and for those still serving I'm sure the new boss will try to be as good as the sadly departed one.
