Love it? Loathe it? Indifferent?
Eat it everyday? Breakfast? Night time snack?
Are you a brand snob?
Do you mix different cereals together?
Do you add fruit?
Anyone ever actually eaten those cookie ones? Or lucky charms? Is it just like eating a bowl of sweets?
So many questions, so let's hear about your cereal habits |

"I only have Weetabix now but love all kinds of cereal that are just crap for me. Coco Pops, Frosties, Golden Nuggets, Nesquik, Cookie Crisp "
But is cookie crisp just tiny chocolate chip cookies? I've never had it but that's what it looks like on the box |

So many questions, OP, but it's a very important issue!
I love it. But more as a snack than a breakfast, unless it's muesli or granola, which is breakfast as well.
I'm a bit of a Crunchy Nut Cornflake fiend, so try not to buy it all the time as I know I might as well just shovel sugar into my mouth...
I don't mix cereals, but I'm relaxed if you do. I'm good like that. However, I won't forgive you if, like my ex-Mother-in-law, you store them mixed. So when you went to serve you had no choice but to have the weird concoction of shreddies, Coco pops and Golden Grahams that were all in one jar! Sacrilege.
And this might now be the longest post I have ever written, but at least it's on one of the big issues of our time. |

Oats or shredded wheat.
All I would say is be careful which one you chose. A lot of peope think it’s automatically a healthy option but some of them are loaded with terribleness. |

First of all can I just say, your ex-Mother-in-law sounds like a monster
Cereals are a bit rubbish I think, the only one I would consider having for breakfast on the regular is porridge.
Bran flakes/all bran with banana is OK on occasion, but most just go soggy and don't fill you up, nobody needs that kind of disappointment first thing in the morning!

For all her good points, there are just some things you can't forgive, right?
But you've just hit the nail on the head as to why cereal is not a breakfast food: very disappointing in the morning, but a great mid-afternoon boost! |

It's porridge I have in the morning but I love cereal as a sweet snack.
Crunchy nut cornflakes, Lucky Charms/Mateys, Coco Pops and Chocos are my top ones.
I miss Riceicles and when variety packs actually had variety. None of this 2 packs of Rice Crispies nonsense. |

I usually don't have cereal during the summer months, but for the remainder of the year I make my own concoction with:
Oats
Oat bran
Wheat bran
Sultanas
Raisins
Sunflower seeds
Pumpkin seeds
Linseed-two types
All soaked overnight in milk, then microwaved if being eaten at home, or put into a Thermos flask.
As an occasional treat I might have Weetabix or the Lidl equivalent, but I eschew commercially made products by Kellogg's or Nestle because they are loaded with sugar, colours and lots of salt, etc.
They are all prohibitively expensive, too! |

My neurodivergent brain has me eating porridge for the last 15 years. In different versions but always porridge.
It's also got to be branded or the luxury range oats. I tried Asda smart price oats: never again. I somehow like the Asda Smart Price unsweetened soy milk.
current porridge incarnation:
Quaker rolled Oats
Asda Smart Price unsweetend soy milk.
Fage 0% yogurt
Berries ( summer or winter)
Stevia
Unsweetened nut butter
For kicks, I tried oats the QE2 RIP Scottish way...not bad still not a favourite though..maybe add a decade and I will be having it for dinner. |

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my all time favorite cereal. I think Golden Grahams are a close second. I enjoy cereal for breakfast as well as the occasional late night snack! |

I can see why she's an ex mother in law. That's just weird. I don't mix cereals. I never would. I find it utterly odd. I only mentioned it because 2 of my children do and I wondered if anyone else ever did or if they were just freaks |

I only ate cereal for breakfast when I was a child.
My husband is a cereal freak. He has boxes and boxes, different kinds, and mixes them. He’s always had his ritual of mixing different kinds of muesli, granola, shredded wheat in just the right proportions amd them tops with milk.
20 years in this country (and with him) and I still find it weird as hell.
I will sometimes have a couple of spoons of granola with my yogurt though! |

Don't really eat breakfast, if it's a weekend I might have porridge.
So I usually eat cereal in the evening. Crunchy nut cornflakes, corn flakes, musili (no nuts), Weetabix, Coco pops.
I am a bit of a brand snob with cereal but can usually get them on a deal. |
