Introverts need downtime to recharge, but they can pull on a cloak and perform if they need to. Generally they are less likely to seek the limelight. Sitting in a room on their own is the highlight of the week.
Extroverts get their energy from social settings, the busier the better. They tend to be very confident. Sitting in a room in their own is akin to dieing. |

The ones that need dragging into a conversation, versus the ones that just will not shut up.
Of course this is just an oversimplified generalisation, but ya know, tinternet innit. What it's for. |

Extroverts enjoy being the life and soul of the party. Introverts don't go to the party.
It's possible to have both traits in a person as I do. For me I only have a certain amount of socialising and people time in me per day, once it's exhausted I'm done. I also don't enjoy talking for the sake of talking and will only give input if I have something to say.

Extroverts tend to find social contact invigorating, introverts tend to find it depletes their energy. However, you can easily be a shy extrovert or a sociable introvert. |

Extroverts get energised from external stimulation like crowds, music and TV.
Introverts energise themselves internally through a lack of stimulation and need their own space, peace and silence to do so.
Although I'm quite shy, don't like big crowds and prefer to fade into the background I'm not an introvert.
I hate being in a silent room and need to be around people, even if I'm not interacting with them. I feed of the energy in the room. So I'm an extrovert.
I'm just an introverted extrovert. |

"When an extrovert gets a party invite they think about what they will wear.
When am introvert gets a party invite they think about excuses not to go."
For me as an Introvert that sums it up nicely, and that is also why I avoid clubs. |

I’m an introvert. I enjoy social interaction but it does drain me. My nights out are on the quieter side, I’d rather go out with 1 or 2 friends or family members to the theatre or cinema and food than a night partying and hanging out in bars. Have always been this way even when I was young but I was worse in my twenties. I went through a period of turning down all social invites and living as a hermit basically. I’m a lot more sociable than I used to be. I don’t like being the centre of attention. Around one or 2 people I might talk for England but in a room full of people I’d be really quiet. Only those close to me see the real me. I enjoy my own company and rarely get bored or restless. |

I think you misunderstand what an introvert needs. I am an introvert - I find too many people tiring and am very comfortable in my own company. That does not, however. mean that the “highlight” of my week is to sit alone in a room. Frankly I find that insulting. |
