I’ve got an unexpected day off, and never planned for it so I don’t quite know what to get up to.

How would you spend yours?

On the sofa.

Eating crap, drinking coffee and watching horror films.

Completely ignoring all the jobs I need to get done.

Yes. My Xbox has my name in it for an hour at least this morning. Shooting someone in the face is reading … (take that anyway you want)

.

A long shower with lots of pampering. Wash my hair. Wear something extra cosy. Cook shakshuka. Light a candle, read a book. Drink some good fruit tea. Watch a film, snuggled in bed. Maybe nip out for a new book. Autumnal walk. PSL. Just be. Relax. Switch off. That would be perfect.

Delightful Bliss

I would have thrown a bag in the car the night before and woken up in someone else's bed

I think a shower then a nice long soak in a hot bath, then dressing gown in front of fire with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Sounds like paradise to me.

I have an unexpected day off today! Going to catch up on admin ... get totally up to date then see a couple of friends for a lazy lunch

After, see what the weather's doing and decide something appropriate ie walk on a beach or pjs and a film/boxset?

Well anything along those lines but always up for change

Get up early and have breakfast in town with other close family members who might also be off today. Have a walk then back home. Lunch and relaxing.

If I get an unexpected day off I use it to do one of the things that I say I never have time to do.

I used to be exactly like that. And don't get me wrong I still get lonely. But sometimes I just love a day to myself. And no one steals your chips! Xx

I've never understood that. (This is a genuine question, not a dig, btw.)

Why go into town to have coffee when you can have it at home? Is it the change of scenery, fresh air, etc. Or is the coffee better?

I'd borrow my friend's dad's Ferrari, drive around town, crash a parade float and get the crowd to sing Twist n Shout, return the car with odometer and fuel level unchanged and take the long way home through my neighbours' gardens.

Have a good day off OP!
