If he sticks with Charles, which seems likely to me at this stage, it will be the third Carolean age.

I think technically it’s known as the Carolingian age pronounced with a soft ‘g’.

"I think technically it’s known as the Carolingian age pronounced with a soft ‘g’. "

Sorry, I’ve just checked and I was wrong!

Carolingian refers to the Frankish dynasty of Charlemagne.

The age of Kings Charles are known as ‘Caroline’.

So, don’t start all singing ‘sweet Caroline’ but yes, my ex-gf will be think it’s all about her and she’ll be wrong: we are now in a Caroline age!

Well the age of the reign of Charles may be the current subject of debate, but I wonder if when William succeeds him, will we enter, "The age of the Willy?"

As long as he stops talking to trees and stops lecturing about sustainable housing (massively expensive and subsidised in the Duchy of Cornwall) he will be fine.

However, he will always be a proper Charlie.

Went to Cambridge and barely scraped through - Not what we need just now!!

Is anyone going to be able to say “King Charles” without adding Spaniel on the end?

I’m sad that the Queen has passed. There will never be another like her.

I wouldn't call driving ambulances during World War II as doing nothing. Whilst it is obvious you did not respect the Queen or the Royal family Other people do and I believe this is a time for reflection, Decorum, Dignity and respect.

Of course people will pick through Queen Elizabeth's reign but I just think now is not really the time.

I certainly haven’t managed to yet, I’d stick with ‘the king’ but then people will think of Elvis.
