It’s crazy like. I just tweeted this but You know, it’s mad because I never really thought that the Queen would die. She’s just a constant. One that I don’t agree with but a constant nonetheless. The face on our bank notes and coins and that addresses us at special occasions. So weird she’s just not alive now. Like she’s been Queen for all of mine, my mum’s and my nan’s ENTIRE life.
Leaving my personal feelings aside, I hope her family are able to find peace with this loss. |

"Not remotely a royalist.
Have to admit she was a classy wee lady though.
She'll be a hard act to follow."
I don’t think the monarchy will ever be the same again |

I don’t really get emotional when people I don’t personally know die, but I’m genuinely saddened by the news.
She was an example to all with her years of service, selflessness, quiet dignity and courage to do right.
She may not have earned her title before taking it, but she earned it from then on, and more too. Did she have a life of privilege, obviously. Did she do something good with it, without a doubt.
Somewhat odd posting this to a swingers site, but I was online when I heard the news.
RIP Queen Elizabeth II. Long live the King. |

My heart actually skipped a beat when Hugh Edwards said the king and Queen's consort will be staying at Balmoral.
I thought the announcement on the bc was done beautifully. |

Nah, I think folk respected her even if they didn't buy into the concept of the monarchy. I know she lived an exceptionally privileged life, but imagine working until you were 96 and on the day before you died! Ffs. |

For once it's not about royal squabbles, writing books bickering or scandals.
It's about a human, a 96 year old woman who was widowed not too long ago and has kept her promise to work until she drops and never retire.

^^^Exactly this. You don't need to be a royalist to have some sense of understanding that her family will be mourning and that she has indeed done her best with the role that was foisted upon her, by virtue of birth (and an abdication). |

HRH Queen Elizabeth was the last connection we had with a more beautiful and innocent
world of yester years.
She was an amazing woman, loved and highly respected here in Ireland by all, including those of us who want a united Ireland.
I've no doubt Charles will continue to uphold her high standards and friendly manner.
May she rest in peace.

Look up duty, obligation and service. Each one should have a picture of her Majesty.
A lifetime of dedication to a world she was born into, a role not of her choosing, but nonetheless dedicated her life to fulfil the obligations of her role.
Rest in Peace, may God give you the rest you deserve and may you be re-united with your love.
Salute ma'am.

Very sad news, she’s pretty much been the only constant in the whole of our lives from childhood to present for every generation of my family…..
Fortunate to have met her once.

Such Sad News.. So sudden after her last engagement with Boris & Liz.
I was hoping for her recovery.
Going to miss those essential 3pm Christmas Speech.
She has achieved so so much during her reign and seen so much.
I'm very proud of her. |

Absolutely loved Lizzie and met her before. She was a great people person and did a lot for this country. Its sad shes gone, I hope King Charles does a good job but I'm not very positive given his track record. |

"Queen regnant" is a term that has constantly evoked the fondest of memories my entire life.
"Queen consort" will take time for me to acclimatise and sink in, but still willingly accept.
Long Live The King.

At the age of 96 I'm happy that she got to spend her final moments somewhere peaceful that had great memories for her.
She leaves behind an incredible legacy. |

"Would people get behind the king as they did with the queen???
I doubt it! The Queen was loved in a way that Charles isn’t. "
Besides the queen and William I don’t think there’s any or a little bit of respect for the rest of the family
And I don’t think most of us here will get to see William become king |

As someone who would consider themselves to be anti-establishment and anti-royalty I have issues with the role she held.
However on a human level she was a mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. I feel for her family at this time. |

Definitely a royalist.
'THE' public class act of my lifetime and for many others before me. Totally learnt from her that 'it's not about me but about my role', a lifetime skill that goes a very long way and will use it to my very last day.

Fabulous Finn
Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.
Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.
I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.

You don't have to be a Royalist to feel a great degree of sadness and compassion for the loss of a great lady, and one who had broken records in both longevity of reign, and life.
May she rest in eternal peace. |

HRH promised to 'dedicate her life, whether it be long or short' to her country as Queen, and dedicate her whole life she did. Nobody could of asked any more of her.
She was our consistent force....Having a new King I going to take some getting used too and I hope Charles can be half the Monarch his Mother was |

I'm not a royalist by any means but hope she rests in peace. She did her duties to her fullest abilities and it almost seems a bit empty this morning with the country in national mourning.
Charles has big shoes to fill... |
