It’s crazy like. I just tweeted this but You know, it’s mad because I never really thought that the Queen would die. She’s just a constant. One that I don’t agree with but a constant nonetheless. The face on our bank notes and coins and that addresses us at special occasions. So weird she’s just not alive now. Like she’s been Queen for all of mine, my mum’s and my nan’s ENTIRE life.

Leaving my personal feelings aside, I hope her family are able to find peace with this loss.

I don’t really get emotional when people I don’t personally know die, but I’m genuinely saddened by the news.

She was an example to all with her years of service, selflessness, quiet dignity and courage to do right.

She may not have earned her title before taking it, but she earned it from then on, and more too. Did she have a life of privilege, obviously. Did she do something good with it, without a doubt.

Somewhat odd posting this to a swingers site, but I was online when I heard the news.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II. Long live the King.

^^^Exactly this. You don't need to be a royalist to have some sense of understanding that her family will be mourning and that she has indeed done her best with the role that was foisted upon her, by virtue of birth (and an abdication).

world of yester years.

She was an amazing woman, loved and highly respected here in Ireland by all, including those of us who want a united Ireland.

I've no doubt Charles will continue to uphold her high standards and friendly manner.

Look up duty, obligation and service. Each one should have a picture of her Majesty.

Fabulous Finn

Phillip came to me today,

and said it was time to go.

I looked at him and smiled,

as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,

and seen I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,

and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,

with Phillip by my side.

Then I turned away and walked,

with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,

as he lead the way,

to a world where King's and Queens,

are Monarch's every day.

I was given a crown to wear

or a Halo known by some.

The difference is up here,

they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,

my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country,

as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,

for all your time and love.

Now I am one of two again,

in our Palace up above.

"Not remotely a royalist.

Have to admit she was a classy wee lady though.

She'll be a hard act to follow."

"Would people get behind the king as they did with the queen???

I doubt it! The Queen was loved in a way that Charles isn’t.

Besides the queen and William I don’t think there’s any or a little bit of respect for the rest of the family

And I don’t think most of us here will get to see William become king "

Who knows?

"Fabulous Finn

Phillip came to me today,

and said it was time to go.

I looked at him and smiled,

as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,

and seen I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,

and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,

with Phillip by my side.

Then I turned away and walked,

with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,

as he lead the way,

to a world where King's and Queens,

are Monarch's every day.

I’ll never wave a flag, but always been a lower case r royalist. Can’t think of anyone else the whole world has such respect and dignity for, whether you like the institution or not she was an incredible figurehead for my whole life I guess

You don't have to be a Royalist to feel a great degree of sadness and compassion for the loss of a great lady, and one who had broken records in both longevity of reign, and life.

May she rest in eternal peace.

"

Probably a change of bank notes as well, will take some time to get use to."

I won't be able to say "I've got some pictures of the queen for you", in future.

"I don’t really get emotional when people I don’t personally know die, but I’m genuinely saddened by the news.

Absolutely this. RIP ma'am xxx

HRH promised to 'dedicate her life, whether it be long or short' to her country as Queen, and dedicate her whole life she did. Nobody could of asked any more of her.

She was our consistent force....Having a new King I going to take some getting used too and I hope Charles can be half the Monarch his Mother was

Worthing

The country has lost a great ambassador. A family has lost a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A very sad time.

I'm not a royalist by any means but hope she rests in peace. She did her duties to her fullest abilities and it almost seems a bit empty this morning with the country in national mourning.

Charles has big shoes to fill...

Balmoral, that photograph: the two Liz's. A week when the Monarch and Premier changed.

A new era.
