A poll has revealed that men make quips more often than their other halves and rate their own wisecracks above jokes made by their partners.
However, women do not laugh at their partner's comedic attempts any more than men and many males kids themselves over their humour.
The study of 149 long-term couples discovered that people were happier if they considered their partner to be funnier than themselves.
Dr. Lukasz Jach, who conducted the study for Silesia University in Poland, said: "When attracting potential partners, men are more likely to produce humour and women are more likely the recipients and judges.
"In long-term relationships, women might lose or lessen their tendencies to respond to humour."
Scientists have argued that humour makes people more attractive to the opposite sex as it relieves stress and produces relaxing hormones.... |

Seems like 2 common traits being rolled into one.
1) Dunning Kruger effect: when people overestimate their abilities and underestimate others
2) it sure it had a name, but I’ve always said the best relationships are the ones where both of you think you’re the lucky one/the other one is funnier/more attractive etc
My right hand hasn’t laughed in ages tho… |
