"Good news on removing the dates on fresh produce in supermarkets! Not just because it makes my job a little easier! But will help reduce so much waste x"
It’s great! Sadly we’ve all been brainwashed in to believing we can’t use common sense to tell when something is unsafe to eat |

Great news, condition checks should be the norm rather than dates anyway |

"How will this work for what gets marked down at the end of the day? "
Not sure on that? Stuff like strawberrys etc that perish quicker are still dated! Don't know if they will stay so! But most produce has a quick turn around not on shelf long enough x |

"As much as I agree it will help reduce waste don’t be fooled into thinking this is for our benefit. It’s to increase profits and nothing else."

Plenty of things I have bought haven't lasted to the date so it's no guarantee as far as that goes anyway.
I'd like a date of when the harvest or prep happened maybe but you never know how it's been stored etc so it's not a perfect system.
Local gives you a better chance of fresh maybe |

Just received my Sainsbury's online shopping and most of my fresh foods chicken, fish, meat's are all within 4 days of sell by date, I can't possibly eat all of it so have to now freeze fresh produce, of course other food stuffs are easy such as fruit, veg etc, but I wouldn't risk fish and meat. |
