I reckon these are coming, but how readily will we adopt them?

Yep.

If done properly I'd trust them more than some random guy in a car.

You just know they're going to be full of spunk and piss, they won't get cleaned out after every "customer"

While I regularly use the DLR and don't feel unsafe so yes I guess I would.

I would not at this current time...that technology is still in its infancy....too easy to hack and not tested enough in the real world.

Also if it becomes the norm, it will put more people out of work...

Our local university is trying out driverless buses on their campus. So far haven't heard of any issues.

They use driveless buses at Southampton airport.

Driverless car, yes. Air taxi, fuck no. At least if anything goes wrong in a car there's very little chance of you plummeting several hundred meters

I think you will find they will have a backup pilot I don't think they will go up without one.

It will put some people out of work, but create work for others.

There will be more need for cleaning crews to sort out the cars as I doubt people will keep them as clean as a taxi, more people to service them, more developers making and testing the software, etc.

I'd prefer them without tbh.

Having lot's of piloted vehicles in the sky would be a nightmare.

It's near impossible to control what drivers are doing on the road, let alone in open air space.

You'd get boy racers weaving in and out of buildings, doing loops and just causing a massive danger to everyone else in the air (and on the ground if they crash).

No pilots should be allowed, just AI that isn't going to fuck about.
