As long as I wake up tomorrow I'm all good. If I don't then the insurance will pay out and they'll all get used to life without me at some point.. Either way we all gotta go someday - just need to get to a level of peace with yourself that you haven't left stuff not done that you regret. |

Op, why don't you go over to Thailand like you say but this time go & see A Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor/Acupuncturist? It is positively encouraged in that country. Just a thought... They might be able to fix you?

Unfortunately can’t see arthritis being cured but a bit of Thai stick [cannabis}may relieve the symptoms |

You could scrap that & go to Vietnam instead.....
Pro's:
A few hundred pounds could make you a Dong Millionaire! You could open a bank account & stare at your monthly statement at how much Dong you got!
You might like Dog restaurants?
Con's:
You might have to eat dog meat - there are a lot of dog restaurants!
A lot of Germans & Americans eat in these restaurants so you'll never be short of chatting to peeps. True, I shit you not!
LOL - just an alternative.... |

Bar the Thailand thing, I can empathise. I'm 36 and can't imagine sticking out the level of pain and disability I have to achieve an average lifespan. 50 more years like this?! No thanks! |

Dont know how long but I've already said to wife, if i start having health problems can't walk or do stuff for my self or similar.
I'm going off the cliff, I don't want to be sat in some nursing home unable to do anything.
As they don't allow people to die it's the only way to do it in this country. Maybe by this time someone may have changed the law and help millions who want the same. |

I don’t plan on it, and I hope to live as long as I can with my love, good health willing. I just don’t like this world. Actually, that’s wrong…I don’t like the parasitic human race. Some people are ok, but generally the human race is the worst virus this beautiful planet has ever seen. I actually feel guilty for bringing two beautiful souls into this world.

Them 2 beautiful soles though can make a difference.
I have 2 as well, they light up my life and both try and make a difference in what they do. Because of them I I try too, I now recycle, reduce energy waste, do things to help the planet because at end of day they will still have to live here after I've gone. |

For shit country so many want to live here...
Anyway life is for living and I always believe that someone is more worse off than me so chill and live with what you have. BTW Thailand may have many opportunities for playtime however that's not the whole country so be careful where you go as you may not like some bits... |

Difficult question. My later life has been awesome except various pains. But I am not sure I want doddery old age and I don't have grand children. Or kids even.
I just want to go quick but wouldn't mind a few more thai ladyboys before I croak it. |

And what happens when you need medical help? You won’t get that in Thailand unless you have a credit card!
Don’t be so dismissive of your health or your life….. some would gladly swap with you! |

Honestly, just reinforces how I already feel. I'm not keen on knowing what the next 20yrs brings, let alone 50. My family are all irritatingly long lived too, all the way back to my G-G Grandmother on Dad's side (born 1830s, lived to mid 80s, birthed 16 kids).
Either I'll get on with it, or I won't. Time will tell. |

"Why is everyone so negative, life is pretty good when you look closely enough. Be positive folks"
Because my current circumstances mean I have to live upstairs in my house, or go out and stay out. My house is completely unsuitable for my disability needs and the more I force myself to hobble up/down stairs on crutches, the worse I make my disability. I live in pain 100% of the time. I have to continue to work, a) for my sanity and b) because I'm the main income earner.
A stairlift will cost £9k due to our stairs, the LA is reluctant to help and there's a year's waiting list anyway.
I'm 36 and cannot see any quality of life now, let alone when I'm unable to self propel in my wheelchair (out of the house). Our bathroom looks like it belongs to someone in their 80s, due to the aids required and frankly I don't want to live in one room, on my own, in pain, for the rest of my life.
If that's what my life has to be, I'd rather cut it short. |

I'm sorry you are having such dificulties. My circumstances are different I have arthritis so badly that means I am pretty much always in pain and I am also terminally ill with pulmonary fibrosis I'm down to 30% lung function with 21% efficiency so am on permanent oxygen. Things will get worse until my lungs scar and stiffen to the point where I suffocate. But I truly believe being positive has helped me stay alive and able to carry on. I've been lucky enough to get assigned a wonderfully helpful social worker that got me a stairlift installed and is in the process of trying to get me a wetroom with a wash dry toilet, dont know if she'll get it but she is trying. Not trying to be insulting or telling you how to suck eggs but can you get assigned someone to try and help you? Even being as positive as I always am I would probably struggle to stay so in your circumstances but please please never ever wish your life away. From someone who's life has been wished away for him it is such a precious thing. You have my sincere wishes and I hope things get better for you. |

Unfortunately, your status as being terminally ill places you (rightly) at the top of the priory list for assistance. That is as it should be. People of 36 with a non life limiting physical disability, who struggle on with working and have another adult living at home with them (to be their carer, obviously), means I am at the very bottom of what is a long list.
I have tried. I've had assessors out. I've had a breakdown in A&E and had "intervention" from nurses and others but it hasn't materialised any actual help. I have to wait over a year and everything is means tested. We've been warned we're unlikely to get much or any financial assistance but adaptations to our house would require tens of thousands of pounds. |

Don't really know what to say but I wanted to say something but I applaud and love your positivity. Hope you get that wet room fella. |

"Why is everyone so negative, life is pretty good when you look closely enough. Be positive folks

Makes me so bloody angry...you've got all these companys and wealthy bastards screwing literally hundreds of thousands of pounds out of the system and when someone desperately needs help there's no bloody money. Im not normally a revolutionary type by by god we need a revolution in this country. I wish I was in a position to do more than send you all my wishes for your future xx
I'm very sorry that you find yourself in the position of having a terminal illness and hope that you get ALL the help and support you will need. It's essential you have that. "
Thanks for that, fortunately between my son and daughter in law and brother and his family I do get lots of help and support. I hope you start getting some of the help and support that you obviously need as well. Take good care of yourselves and if you ever ever feel the need for a chat just send me a message ok. And, I'm not just saying that I truly mean it. Regards to both of you, please take care and stay safe Tony xx |
