"It was all Novas and Mk 2 GTis when I was in school... never had either though.
Same here. Also Astra GTE, Renault 5 GT Turbo. Later on Citroën Saxo and Renault Cleo."
I always liked the GTE (had a vanilla Mk2 astra), but that and the 5 GT were definitely sought after. Less obtainable though.
I had an acquaintance with one of the original Williams Clios. Not fast by todays standards, but it handled like a go-kart. |

"Hillman Imp "
I was whiling away some spare moments in the gallery of a Magistrates Court when a defendant said "I should like to know why the old bill thought we wanted to nick parts off an Anglia when we was in an 'illman imp".
The magistrate, in his best 'Who are the Beatles' tone of voice, replied "I don't think I've heard of a Nilma Nimp". |

In my late teens I had a job with my local Ford dealership collecting and delivering cars. This was when all the fuel injection cars were coming out, XR3i, XR2i and the 2.8i Capri. I had fun. |

"Ford Capri 3.0s like in The Professionals.Bodie and Doyle care free days .
Doyle had the better car though. The RS 2000"
In the opening credits of Minder, there was a white Escort RS. Like to think it was the RS1800 with the Lotus twin cam engine. |
