Not all that North of North London |
I'm friends with a band who headlined Glastonbury in the early 90s (amongst other achievements). Met members of many other big indie bands from that era many times
I've met triathlete Lucy Charles-Barclay several times. Also Chrissie Wellington and most recently Lauren Steadman. All are lovely.
Met too many Olympic/international cyclists to mention.
I'm named in one of the first medical journals about Covid (evidenence the virus eas stoll still contagious within lungs several weeks after death) |

I've interviewed the Saturdays for a local charity when they did the official comic relief song several years ago.
I've met David dimbleby and even sat in his question time chair.
I wet myself in front of the Queen when I was 5.
We live in a part of London where there are quite a lot of celebrities who live in the area and see them fairly often and some we know well enough to say hello to and pass the time of day with. |

Worked with Ruth Jones on a TV show called Ar Y Tracks, she played a polish cafe assistant and truth, was a very rude and stuck up woman in real life on set.
Very rude to extras and runners for no reason and she went quite funny to a fan asking for an autograph "I'm in character,so no" grumpy cow she was.
Flip side, met Nicole Scherzinger at a xfactor gig I was roadie, and, to my surprise, she was down to earth and honestly one of the most humble and welcoming person you could ever dream to meet. And ,didn't have to, but stayed behind to make sure all her fans got an autograph or photo. Which I thought was a real testimonial to her fine character |

I once sang on BBC radio. Please don’t bombard me with autograph requests!!!!! :p
David Beckham winked at me once. I was wearing an FCUK T-shirt that said ‘Rooney scores again’ and the picture underneath was not pretty.
Hugged Eva Longoria at a concert. She’s tiny and stunning.
Was stood behind Jared Leto in Narita airport, Tokyo deli counter. He bought a sandwich. I bought the cheapest mini bottle of wine. |

I (Mr) looked after a number of page 3 girls, provided security to Springsteen who turned out to be one of the nicest celebrities I have met, looked after Caprice while she did a PA which involved staying with her while she got changed. Worked with bon Jovi. |

I played the trumpet for the Queen during her visit to Deptford, many years ago.
I sat opposite Davina McCall on a train leaving Victoria. She is stunningly beautiful in person.
I was knocked to the ground in Soho by Bernard Breslaw who was riding his bike. He shouted sorry but didn't stop.
I appeared on Tiswas. |

I am distantly related to Tim Curry
Stole Richard Burns hat when he drove for Suburu in the WRX, his Mum lived local and he used to pop into the pub I worked at, one time I joked that I never saw him without his hat on and he said he only ever took it off for one thing
I have had dinner with Leslie Benzies, the guy who created Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption and my house is under an NDA related to his company |

The composer that did music for red dead redemption bought an instrument from me on ebay. (It was one I had custom made..a real heavy beast of a thing and somewhat of an ordeal to package it and send it to the states.)
I don't really follow gaming trends that much, so I watched a few videos about him on youtube, where he was saying things like .."this guitar belonged to john lennon..this drum kit was sammy davis junior's drummer's.." etc.
Hes definitely a collector, the huge building he had his studio in is like a museum..but I guess he's putting it all to use and making a living from it.
I have quite a lot of connections this way, to known people, most of them musical. |

That's cool! Leslie is lovely and very passionate about his new venture which is very exciting, I've seen the trailer and it looks incredible tbf, he is a man of bold vision and super intelligence and I'm proud that a little bit of his creation was scripted and forged under my roof

I appeared in a video with Mick Jagger in the 80's.
I went along with a friend for fun and it was! Jerry Hall turned up.
I worked in a private literary Soho members club in the late 80's and served Russ Meyer and his Kitten (Kitten Natividad) at a private dinner. They were absolutely lovely.
Helped John Mortimer when he felt unwell and still have the note he posted to thank me.
Watched Jeffrey Bernard wet himself on more occasions than I care to remember.
This was before the particular club became famous. It was just a part time waiting job for me but turned into a brilliant jaunt!

I chose a person who had not yet become famous but was on a 'reality' show and developed a fan website for them. I was learning web creation at the time and thought that would be a good way to do it. The person eventually became very famous and a search on their name put my site at the top (above the official one). It's no longer active but experience was interesting all the same. |

At 11 i was told i could do sport by the school.
At 14 i watched 2 friends die from heroin.
At 15 I was told I was a dickhead and scum, and should join the army to become 'fodder' due to where i was from as people from my area dont become what i wanted to become (litterally careers advice)...
At 16 I set the 100m and 200m records for the school and 110m hurdles. They stood till it was knocked down.
U16 tennis champion...and doubles champ too...
At 17 to 19 played football for 2 premier clubs let go by both...
Won a European title in Thai boxing at 68kg... competed for another at 72kg...
Got 2 degrees and a masters post the above... to do the job I always wanted to do as a kid.

Like a few here, i've worked in what is loosely termed 'Show Business', so way too many encounters to detail- but some random ones include
Being in Madonna's personal space, inside her dressing room- apparently only her and her assistant are allowed in there, but she'd broken something and needed it fixing...she was on stage rehearsing at the time though.
I was on stage with Geri Haliwell- I very nearly fell off it in front of 25000 people, which wouldn't have been good as it was 8ft high with steel decking below it
I did an interview with F1 driver Jean Alesi. The presenter didn't have a clue who he was, so I wrote all the key questions to ask him...and I almost decapitated Clarkson on the way to the interview location- he's actually quite tall, which was lucky in this instance.
Two years running i had to loan former page 3 girl, Linda Lusardi, some of my camera kit as the dizzy moo had forgotten something. Never said thankyou either time, never even spoke at all- although did have a good chat with her husband Sam both times (he asked for the kit)..think he was in Brookside or something in the 80's, nice bloke. |

In one hotel Night Manager role, a regular guest was Francis Rossi of Status Quo. He stayed when having time off with family. He'd order Bacon Butties when coming in from nightclubbing! I made them for him.
At another hotel, I was the hotel's liaison Manager for Barry Manilow for 5 days; his tip to me for my help was superb.
At the same hotel, Sue Barker when in her tennis playing days, at checking out, kissed ne twice, as thanks for carrying all of her bags to her car! I didn't wash that part of my face for days - I was smitten!
