Sir Ray Davies of The Kinks
Yes, ok he is a Knight of the Realm for his craft so someone somewhere appreciates him BUT he just does not get enough recognition still amongst the general public, well in my humble estimation anyway. |

He's another great choice but he wasn't British
OK hes Irish if were being pedantic
Is he?
Ballyshannon? Or am I wrong?"
Yes Rory was most definitely Irish. he was not British. Stating a fact as clear as that is not pedantic. Just accurate. |

I have to almost force myself to say it but...
Stock, Aitken & Waterman
I personally detest most of their work - but - as Pete Waterman says if you think I'm crap and its so easy to score over 100 Top 40 hits you go and do it, score even more and show me how its done then.

I don’t know if Gilbert O’Sullivan ever gets the recognition he deserves. His lyrics and songs are genius in my opinion and I will constantly argue that. |

Good shout.

"John Martyn and Nick Drake of course."
Yes!!
There's a 3 minute video on YouTube of a visit to Nick's grave in Tamworth in Arden.
I thought it was quite nice to watch. |

Totally not pedantic especially bearing in the mind the history and would most likely NOT want to be called British. |

We like him so we’ve claimed him as ‘one of us’
Got a problem with that? |

"Neil Hannon.
Does he call himself British?
He's from the UK. Stop being a prick. "
Read my question again. It's not my opinion or yours. It's his. And he lives in Ireland with his Irish wife and Irish kids. |

"Ginger Wildheart
Miles Hunt
Ian McNabb
All great songwriters and performers who don’t get the recognition the deserve"
Miles' lyrics are brilliant, particularly on his solo work and later TWS albums. I love everything he's ever done and am gutted that he has said he's no longer going to release new music |
