"PS thank you for new thread OP
No problem, it's weird how people remember the worst meal and not the best, you would think they want to forget the worse. "
For sure!! |

I'm rubbish at remembering specific menus but the food I was served on a European river cruise for 10 days was really outstanding. All meals were great but dinner was always 5 courses, silver service. The quality was excellent, most of it freshly prepared. Makes me hungry thinking about it.. |

Recently it was a steak at Peru Perdu in Manchester with candied plantains.
Overall? Likely a toss up between a tasting menu at The Wilderness in Birmingham or some ice cream with candied nuts at a Street Food awards show in 2017. |

Both sound delicious to be fair. |

Pulled tri tip (like pulled pork but beef, ish), coleslaw and corn bread in a truck stop style diner near an out of town mall somewhere in Maine, New England. I don’t know what it was about it, but I often think back on it as the most enjoyable meal ever. |

This is a difficult one because they thankfully outweigh the bad experiences.
So many OP, so many to remember and choose from.
The Codfather in Cape Town: a huge tray of Crayfish, Monkfish, Butterfish, all cooked simply with garlic, oil, shallots.
I also had a smug-inducing breakfast at Polo24 next to Liverpool Street Station: a warm egg and crispy bacon sourdough offering washed down with a Bloody Mary (minus the celery. I can't stand celery!).
I once had a fantastic piping hot Porridge served with a honey and whisky syrup....and I don't even like Whisky. |

Not a meal as such. But on our honeymoon in the South of France we went for a trip to Rennes-le-Chateau. It was very close to where we were staying so we walked back. It was so horrendously hot that we soon ran out of water. My husband had bought a melon and we stopped and he cut it open. I've never been that enamoured of melon, but it was the tastiest most amazing thing I've ever eaten |

A fillet steak with the most beautiful creamy whiskey based sauce in Turkey several years ago.
Street food in Singapore - think it was chicken but either way it was out of this world!
There’s a spit & sawdust restaurant near my aunts home in Almeria that only serves chicken. It’s dirt cheap and plastic chairs but the best meal I’ve ever had . |

"A nice steak at Miller and Carter yum yum
Lovely food there, one of our favourite places. "
Yes, they are very good, but not the best I've had. Just last week had a really nice 3 course lunch, and very reasonable price too. |
