Don't worry...this isn't a thread about self-mutilation.
Anyway, I've found it increasingly difficult to find actual double-edged razor blades in regular shops. My facial hair is very coarse which means I can't use multi-blade razors. If I try the coarse stubble gets stuck between the blades and after a few strokes it feels like I'm running a piece of barbed wire down my face.
Now, I should point out that this has nothing to do with technique. I've been shaving for 30 years and wash first (without drying), use a shaving brush, use shaving foam (not gel) and even check my baldy sideburns are even.
However, the standard double-edged razor blades that fit into a "proper" razor seem to be increasingly hard to come by. The pound shops used to sell them but seemingly not any more. Asda had some (overpriced) Gillette ones but seem to have stopped selling them. I was buying multi-packs of (excellent) Wilkinson Sword blades online but after the last few I received were fakes I'm starting to give up buying them online.
Where does everybody else get theirs from? And please don't say "the barbers" as I rarely have reason to visit one and would probably get a funny look if I did! |

Amazon is where I buy mine when I need them.
Have you considered a cutthroat razor for shaving? They take practice but you get an excellent shave from them.

Sainsburys sell DE blades or they did last time I looked. (Don’t check online) check in the store a lot of stuff in store isn’t actually online strangely.
Otherwise eBay I used to get “Derby” brand |

Get bic disposable single blade razors...and use my patented olov shaving method....use two razors at a time...one in the sink of hot water soaking the shaved bristles off ...and one being used shaving...then ..after each stroke swap them over ...you get a better shave and for some reason they seem to last longer |

+1 for Amazon, even though I have a beard, I still use a cut throat for trimming and tidying up. Wish I’d used one so much sooner. |

Wouldn't touch Wilk sword or gillette razors for money. There's loads of shops - Never used Amazon to buy from, try to support local businesses directly.
Get a decent shave cream if your hair is thick and remember to strop the razors every now and again (both sides). Few co's I use below.

I actually own one following a suggestion years ago. However, it is now gathering dust as the last time I used it I almost "shaved" a mole on my neck off (which bloody hurt and was...very bloody).
My worry with Amazon - following previous experiences - is that it is getting as bad as eBay. You either try to buy a branded product but receive a fake or buy an own-brand product that turns out to be crap. I'm not saying that applies to every eBay & Amazon seller but it puts you off after a while. |

Thanks, I'll have a look.
I used to get "barbers packs" of Wilkinson Sword razors for a decent price - I could get a big enough pack to last a year for £20 or so. Unfortunately, the seller is no longer in business. |
