You'll need to prise my lipstick from my cold, dead, hand.
If it was more socially accepted, a lot of men would wear it.
Besides, with the rise of fillers, botox and semi permanent make up, I don't know if "natural" even exists any more. |

I couldn't make up my mind about this.
But anyway, to each their own. I know of guys who prefer women to put that effort and apply make up. Also men who prefer women without make up. Same with women who prefer men to wear suits, groom their facial hair all the time vs women who don't care much about that.
So in my opinion, beauty contests are meaningless. How can you have a contest on something that's so subjective? |

"Miss England is not wearing make up on stage. Could this start a trend. Could make up be on its way out. Will make up shaming be a new thing?
Why isn't she wearing make up, did she say? "
She is a Miss England finalist (one of 40) who wants to use the platform to help deal with the toxic expectations created by social media |

"Makeup, what you see isn’t always what you get
This is very true. It often comes as a complete shock to men when they discover I don't actually have green eyelids "
That feeling when you go to bed with one person and wake up next to another person |

I know right. Still Miss England is promoting her inner beauty so I'm guessing its fine because they'll still be the same on the inside |

When you’re 22 and look like her that’s easily done, but not every woman is blessed with great skin.
I live the artistry of makeup but I’m also happy makeup free! |

Women are already shamed for wearing makeup so nothing will change there. I suppose she will help some people to feel more confident in their own skin, I like that.
I do think it's very easy to go makeup free proudly when you already look as good as she does. She's a beautiful woman, so she will be praised for it. But if someone else who wasn't slim and naturally blessed did that they wouldn't have been given the chance to get to that position in the first place. I can only imagine how they would be mocked.
But if she's making people feel better about themselves then that's only a good thing. |

Why does it need to be shamed? What happened to choice? If people want to wear it, great. If they don't want to wear it, great. Why does it need to affect anyone else?

I've certainly had men check that I'm not going to be someone with lots of makeup on. I'm not but that's not the point. When they check it's really shaming women who do like more. References to "I like natural women" etc. I dye my hair - is that natural? |

Same. I rarely wear make up but I dye my hair. I'm not quite ready to embrace the grey yet, if people don't like it, tough.

It is by this contestant, much like every topic in the world requires some self righteous sycophant to champion it’s cause….Can’t we just be different with choices, must everything attract a protest movement or self proclaimed champion..? |

I wasn’t being a dick with that comment it was a genuine question. I don’t watch Miss World so I have no idea if she’s making a big deal out of this or if it’s just a fact that she isn’t wearing makeup so I can’t comment any further on her motives. |

I didn’t think you were, I don’t follow it either, sorry if my response was abrupt..
This is the modus operandi of all these events now, Miss World picks a topic and it becomes politicised, no doubt these girls will be building a profile as well as bringing their beauty to the stage, I would hazard a guess she’s been advised to do this, keep her “in tune” and grow the media profile |

"As a very young woman she shouldn’t need it anyway!
I’ve googled her and she’s blessed with olive skin and a beautiful complexion anyway "
I wish my daughter would feel that way…..
Just googled her too, she’s top of the search profiles, a politics student and gaining huge coverage, already wining…. |

The natural look can sometimes be better but there's nothing wrong with enhancing your looks by applying abit of make up. It's just the same as getting a tan, or whitening your teeth etc... please keep applying your bright red lipstick ladies. |

I don’t think I’ve ever actually watched it. I just thought they all wished for world peace in a bikini. |

Well you can see if a womab is wearing too much makeup and you wonder what they look like without it. Saw a you tube vid of what some of the top female pornstars look like without it.They are very diffrent |

Why do so many people always assume false motives ? These little judgements and seeing anything as woke that challenges stereotypes status quo say more about them than her. If she was my daughter I’d be so proud |

So many see it as so many do it, from reality TV to self publishing via social media, it’s an industry and these competitors select topics to gain attention and build a profile |

They've all got lovely complexions though, must be their skincare regime.

"For the record I think that morethancurves99 looks absolutely stunning in her pic today wearing very little or no make up."
I'm sure the lady in question is lovely but tbh, unless the eye make up is really unnatural colours, or you've got a bright lippy on it's impossible to tell in most pictures.
Someone could still have a faceful of makeup on but natural colours and it wouldn't be evident on here. |

Except the false eyelashes or mascara, and no doubt foundation, but yes definitely lovely!
Make up can look natural. |
