I may be a tad obsessed with the Dr Marten brand 
I have eight, all different, pairs of boots and four pairs of sandals
Often wear the boots with dresses or skirts

That would be when they moved production to China, The are now making boots and shoes in the U.K. again and I find quality is now very good.
Sadly for me is that the Docs factory shop just down the road from me has now closed so no more cheap Docs  |

They were part of my not official school uniform from 14-16 (cherry red), matched in with my fat ended tie, and open shirt showing my vesr top off... Such a rebel!
Felt a bit of a knob at my at the time 11yr olds Comp pre induction day and my old science teacher asked my daughter if she'd wear the actual uniform  |
