Brought in for the sex appeal but was actually a really good actress in the role.

Which is weird because I never have watched Trek for the "sex appeal" but I guess plenty did.

It's a sad state of affairs that the orville was originally pitched as a new trek show (totally true) circa 2014 but cbs wasn't interested. Instead they went with Discovery....and Macfarlane went and re worked the script...which Fox made him add fart jokes too.

But yeah, it's on point and does what trek fans wanted when Discovery and Picard could not.

And just remember, Strange New Worlds only happend because of fans demanding it. At least they seem to get what trek fans wanted now.

I'm super old school, I love Shatner and Nemoy, probably because I grew up watching the original series on a Sunday morning with my dad. That said, I actually liked the way JJ Abrams managed to bring Kirk and Spock's characters back around on a whole new timeline... But I have such a thing for Chris Pine so I could also just be insanely bias

Love long and prosper. Here's my list, 1 and 2 are very close.

1 TNG

2 ds9

3 original

4 strange new worlds - am enjoying it.

4 Picard - Basically alright, nothing amazing.

5 voyager - watched the whole thing but never really loved it. If they listened to Ron Moore, it would have been great, but glad they didn't as we got BSG.

The rest...

TAS - not watched it, animation doesn't really do it for me.

Lower decks - see above. I might watch it though.

Enterprise - just couldn't get into it. Didn't work for me.

Discovery - I don't think there's any character I actually enjoy in that show. The fact every episode goes through Micheal is irritating. Even when other characters are speaking we watch her reactions.

Enterprise was tough to get into. Once it started to get interesting they cancelled it..

Enjoying Below Decks, Strange New Worlds and Prodigy.

Don't really get the hate for Discovery especially when strange new worlds will tie into it.

So is strange new worlds, but that's decent and discovery isn't. So was all star trek. So not sure that argument works, just thrown around at any criticism.

I’m enjoying Lower Decks but struggling with strange new worlds, I get that it’s back to the format of the original series with independent stories per episode but I have much enjoyed the longer story arcs of Picard and Discovery lately

TNG is probably still my favourite Trek as far as TV goes, obviously a soft spot for TOS, thought DS9 was a slow burner that really grew into it own, never could really get into VOY for some reason.

Of the newer stuff,

Picard started well, flagged a bit the second half of series one up to near the end of series 2, but the actual ending of series 2 was a beautiful send off for Q.

Discovery had great promise but focused too much on the one character I think, still can’t abide what they did with the look of the Klingons in the first series but otherwise it was watchable. Absolutely love Tilly and The Empress though! Haven’t seen any since it went to Paramount+.

Haven’t watched SNW, but heard good things and Anson Mount was a great Pike in DIS.

Lower Decks is just brilliant and a great dip into the humour you can get from taking the piss out of your own IP. More Riker always.

As far as the movies are concerned, Khan is obviously top, and I don’t consider anything done by JJ Abrams as being Trek. How can one man do so badly with literally the 2 biggest Sci-fi franchises?

I have to say, strange new worlds has to be the best of the franchise so far. Very disappointed Discovery who just seem to be making it up as they go along and dragging storylines out. And also disappointed in Picards piss poor story telling and that Rafae who started off as all gung-ho and then turned into an annoying whinger.

I'm not an avid watcher, but some episodes stand up really well, others not so much. I find anything after TNG is hard to dip in and out of, as there is often too much in the way of backstory for the casual viewer
