You've sent polite messages, engaged in conversation, had an occasional flirt met with "lol"
Is it a quit whilst you're ahead moment or do persist...

"If someone replies lol, definitely if it's in response to flirting, have some respect for yourself and end it there.
Fricking lol.
Up there with thumbs up.

Sometimes a chat just lulls naturally and a lol is a bump to the next topic.
No reply or a long delay between messages if they're online in between would be more of an indicator that they're not rushing to chat back. |

Yes. Sounds like they're not really.interested.
I mean they might be but it's so hard to tell on here if they're not good with conversation. |

I'd see it as a sign that things probably aren't going well, either they don't give a fuck or they're incapable of making conversation... Both of these are reason to call it quits.
However it'd be foolish to throw it in based on a single lol, keep going and see how it goes, you'll know pretty soon if it's worth the effort or not. |

"All heavily invested responses to such a hypothetical situation.
I shall pass this all on to said friend"
I get the feeling people don’t believe the advice is ‘for a friend’ lol |

Maybe they are still kind of interested but think that flirting is going to lead that sexting online Funky stuff....I don't partake in it and always think 'here we go' when the flirting starts because so many want the ability and media to cum without the complexities of meeting and for me that is a mood killer....so being the fun sponge that I am I might use 'lol' as a 'oh I'm not for that malarkey but let's keep chatting'
I don't know, I tend to make it clear early on I'm not into online malarkey so as not to be labelled a fun sponge and they can then make that choice to leave or continue |
