I was thinking tonight actually about all the old people who are alone and have nobody. It's bad enough being isolated when you're young, but knowing you have nothing or nobody when you've got such little of life left makes me sad.

And no I'm not saying all old people are lonely wankers and of course there's people who enjoy the peacefulness! I'm just thinking of the ones I've met or heard of who weren't happy to live like that.

I'm a year younger than you. I think the stereotyping is hilarious, if I'm honest a lot of it is how I thought when I was younger. One thing's for sure if they're lucky people will find out the stereotypes don't always apply

my dad's very lonely since my mum died. He's 95 and does his best to get out. There are so many people in his position and there are clubs etc but they can't fill 24 hours a day

As a kid growing up I believed the stereotype racist remarks i heard .I didn't know better .Then I grew up . Some of the comments are coming from 50yr olds lol.like they're so so far away from being called a coffin dodger themselves.

I'm not against the post as such , some comments are funny , fair and true.

Some others are nasty. Cruel and hurtful etc. Suggesting a group of people should just fuck off as they smell of piss etc just isn't nice.

Don't agree ? Maybe I'm alone in thinking it's unfair. If not , I'd like to hear others opinions on it.

My comment was to show the stark contrast of what can be said about 1 minority compared to another . Quite rightly racism is being wiped out , slowly but hopefully surely.

my opinion is that it's so patently untrue that its laughable. I think most of the comments are tongue in cheek and treated them accordingly. For me ageism is me not getting a job that I'm more suitable for than a younger person, being denied access to healthcare or other services, passed over for promotion etc. If this thread is ageism so is the similar one about young people

I work mostly with older (genuinely older folk...70+) and bloody love them.
