It looked absolutely dreadful from the first trailer they released. Tone looked way off. Can't think of a company more far removed from the anti-industrialisation rhetoric that is so prevalent in Tolkien's works than Amazon so it's hard to imagine them doing his writing justice |

The LoRs books themselves have extensive appendices that detail what happened before and after the rings arrived in Middle Earth. |
