No. I get why people do but I think there’s be a tiny bit of evidence by now considering the amount of money that has been spent trying to find them.

Never seen one but I was installing equipment in a well known Belfast bar 30 years ago and the assistant manager who was helping me get the equipment in, dropped it halfway up the stairs and ran off screaming at the top of his voice.

The manager found him cowering in a cubicle in the gents and when he calmed down he said a woman had walked out of the wall on one side, passed through the equipment we were carrying and continued on through the opposite wall. I had seen nothing at all.

Apparently there have been numerous reports of this woman being seen over the years but I can't confirm it.

Logically, no. But I adore those ghost hunter TV shows. I do love the idea of ghosts, and have had a few experiences that I can't explain.

I saw a sign yesterday for a Bath ghost walk and silent disco. Not sure if that's two separate events or one utterly ridiculous event, but I'm hoping it's the latter and really want to do it!

"Do you believe in ghosts, tell your story here "

I believe in spirits (vodka, Bacardi, rum….)

Seriously though yes I do believe in them. And have seen or felt them around me. When my cat died at the vets after being attacked by 2 dogs (vets think she was ragged by two staffies and died a week later) I couldn’t be there as the vets said she was dying and they would simply be helping her on her way. Within 5 mins of that call, I felt a cold spot right beside me, but the rest of the room was warm, if I put my hand in and out I could feel the difference. A few days after that I would see indentations on my bed where she used to sleep.

Years before that my previous cat had died, then I’d moved house, and got two kittens, occasionally I’d see a “shadow” walking around, the kittens would stop playing and watch occasionally hissing at seemingly nothing.

On a walking tour to McKenzies Tomb in Edinburgh (Greyfriars) my phone along with others went from fully charged to zero power in a matter of minutes, those of us who were stood at the back furthest from the entrance lost the phone power

"This compelling evidence that prove there are but yet smart people say no such things as ghosts it's time to make your mind up! "

What compelling evidence?

I believe the “spirit” if you want to call it that, lives on after the body no longer lives, and there is a lot of circumstantial evidence in quantum physics to support that theory.

But I don’t think this energy is visible to the naked eye so a ghost? I don’t think so

Too many reports of weird occurrences for there not to be something odd. On the 2005 Australian cricket tour of England, when staying in a old Durham hotel one of the players was so rattled he slept on a team mates floor rather than stay in his own room. One of may examples.

The human brain and our consciousness is so highly complex, that the simple explanation is that we are each very capable of perceiving them, even without there being any ghost.

When our own mind has been ruled out, I don't think there's much likelihood of such things that defy laws of physics etc, existing.

I’m a psychic medium and see ‘dead people’ all the time.

‘Ghosts’ like a shape with a sheet over - nope I don’t see them, it’s the stuff of movies

There’s some great pages on Facebook where people go out ‘ghost hunting’ and video it. Their communication kit is amazing

People go out with recording equipment to known haunted buildings - they use tech stuff that pics up voices and hear sources from ‘spirit’

People post in the comments if they see or hear anything, I’ve not watched them for a while but they’re good

I tried to get my daughter to watch one but she got totally freaked out by it

Fascinating stuff

With the Facebook ‘live’ you can see things moving like curtains moving without a breeze, doors opening and things falling on their accord

Oh right, I don’t see them like watching a tv, they’re not 3D

I get messages in my head from spirit for people. The spirits I see are a presence that I sense or feel and the image of the person appears like a filter in the front of my eyes, or I am aware of people present in rooms. I can describe what they look like, age, sex, clothing etc but they’re not in a 3D form that other people can necessarily see - so not someone that’s wandering around making cups of tea and munching scones

I've been kinda freaked out by ghosts ever since seeing Ghost watch as a kid, even after it was made clear it was fiction. Being obsessed with Ghostbusters as a kid only fuelled my hunger for ghosts, but alas I've never seen one. Been on a couple of ghost walks, and regularly get ghosted, but no free-floating apparitions for me.

Although when I was younger I do remember waking up some mornings with my pants covered in ectoplasm. Still can't explain that

Up until a few years ago I was a non believer, I worked in a place that had a large viewing platform over the work area (no one ever went up there for anything) all the time when you were working you would spin round and out of the corner of your eye would catch a large out line of a figure standing there in the corner. It was something that I never spoke to about with other staff members until one day I was caught doing a double take when I saw it. A work mate said “you see that to at times ?”

Even sitting here now I’m getting goose bumps and shivers down my spine, that was not the only experience in that place but it was the main one

So...

If ghosts existed, then they would need to be made purely of energy, since by their very definition they can't be made of matter can they...

See where am going with this...

See cos they're or can be only energy... they woudl disolve, as theyre not contained within a battery or feild of any kind.

BUT also because the of the 2nd law of thermodynamics...energy is 'always' lost to heat.

So then... the only counter to that is... it has to have its.own source of energy...

Since there is litterally no accounting for this in physics... at all... ever... in the known 'universe'.

You have to concede that you beleive in magic.

In which case grow up you have no business being on a sex site.

I have audio hallucinations when I’m half asleep/half awake. I don’t put this down to ghostly activity as there is a scientific explanation. I believe people can have audio and visual hallucinations in any state of consciousness. The human brain is a wonderful powerful and complex thing. I truly believe anything experienced can he rationally and scientifically explained.

Make of this what you will. A few years back I was out clearing snow with a tractor and snow plough and it was just getting dark and the section of road I was on was clear but icy. I was coming round a bend in the road and voice said to me from inside the cab “ look out “ as I came round the bend a lorry was coming at me on my side of the road. I felt what I can only describe as arms round me holding me in me seat( not wearing my seatbelt never did in the tractor) as I went into the ditch flipped the tractor in it’s roof and ended up on its side through the hedge. I completely unhurt still in the seat walked away. Before that day I thought ghosts spirits guardian angles was all a load of crap but now am open minded about it

While not arguing the case that ghosts exist, we know a lot about Newtonian physics but we don't actually know very much at all about quantum physics. In the case of quantum particles for example, during experimentation we literally can't observe their behaviour without affecting the outcome of it.

So I'm open to the possibility of a scientific explanation we just aren't able to understand or gather data on, I just highly doubt that souls/spirits/dead people have anything to do with it.

Having said that, I'm also highly dubious about the anecdotal evidence of 'sightings' based on the highly fallible human senses and brain processes.

No, I didn't grope or get groped by a ghost. It was a bit more ethereal than that. I'd like to explain but it's a very long story with a lot of technical stuff about how to set up a vigil. It'd be a fuck of a long post. Even the TL;DR version is going to be a bit of a read.

What I am describing is based on quantum theory. The premises of energy degradation and in particular the advances at cern make it pretty clear its not possible.

Effectively youre suggesting some as yet unknown energy type stores solid matter data and exists without degradation on as yet unidentified plane or medium.

Which means you need to invent a whole new branch of particle physics that has escaped detection even at cern and the large hadron collider... if you're aware of the energy required to create what you describe its impossible to scale it from our body to do what you suggest...

I like to think there are ‘restless souls’ around, this is pretty good confirmation for me

Ghosts, possession, black magic, etc. it’s all true; and whilst science is a wonderful thing, it doesn’t necessarily have the answers to explain everything. The saying “seeing is believing” is also nonsense, since we are not blessed with using all of senses to detect presence of what the eye cannot see. They’re out there. Good & Bad.

I don’t need to believe in them: I’ve experienced them. However, I haven’t sufficient time or space to give the details.

I take a lay person’s interest in quantum physics, and I guess I’m receptive to other dimensions and our perceived world not being the whole story, and maybe we’ve labelled unexpected experiences as “ghosts” because that suits our perception of our human existence, and belief in an afterlife. I dunno

Before November 11, 1886, very few people knew anything at all about radio! We aren’t consciously aware of radio waves. Now we all have mobile phones.

It can be mathematically proven that there are a total of 11 dimensions, but we are only CONSCIOUSLY aware of 3 of them.

CERN and the other particle physics experiments are looking for answers in entirely the wrong direction. We don’t yet know how to CONSCIOUSLY access information about the unknown potentially additional 7 dimensions. Perhaps sometimes, in some places, some people can acquire such information unconsciously, and their brains translate it into familiar concepts for their conscious minds to try to understand it.

sigh...

1.Mathematically proven by...

2.'Proven' 11 dimensions...

2b. We 'don’t yet know' how to CONSCIOUSLY access information about the 'unknown potentially' additional 7 dimensions.

Which one we going with...

Because essentially it feels like you're saying Marvels Dr Strange was based on facts.

Our lovely chums across the Atlantic performed some research - I think it was in the 60's surrounding some paranormal activity at a home (you know, chairs and other heavy items randomly flying across the room etc). Everyone was convinced that this young girl was possessed. The output from the research was that they believed that the girl herself was responsible somehow for manipulation of existing latent energies and it was her anxiety attacks that triggered the items moving.

I'd be more inclined to believe that the considerable amount of radiation and energies that flow around us could somehow be channelled subconsciously by one of those bits of our brains we really don't understand than an element of energy remaining after we die.

No. Any purported evidence I have heard for their existence has been extremely flimsy. Luke

Search Wikipedia for “M-theory”. Please let me know if you understand it !!!

Only about one tenth of an iceberg is visible above water. But we are able to access the nine invisible tenths.

We know that we are unable to “see” most of the Universe – dark matter and energy. Are the missing mass and energy “under water”, e.g. in other theoretical dimensions? If so, what else do they contain?

Are beings in advanced societies using properties of the proposed “hidden” dimensions for communicating and perhaps travelling faster than light travels in that small part of the Universe that we are aware of? They most certainly aren’t using light or radio transmissions.

I don’t believe in ghosts. But I do believe that some people, in some places, and at some times, do become aware of inexplicable phenomenon. Their explanations are attempts of their subconscious minds to explain the inexplicable to their conscious minds.

A trip to a Spiritualist church will convince many non believers that it is possible to communicate with the other side without actually seeing a ghost/spirit

People are aware of them in different ways depending on which of their senses are the strongest

So it is able to produce some quantifiable evidence?

As a teenager I was walking home around 10pm and I cut across a field! I genuinely saw someone else walking across the field but towards me! I looked down and then back up and they vanished! I know it’s not a scary event but genuinely still to this day I’m adamant that I saw a ghost
