What's the worst acclaimed(can be critically or just one thought of as one of the best) movies you've ever seen that you just can't stand?

This is going to be highly subjective so obviously acknowledge that.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I love Tarantino films and everyone said it was good and I turned it off after an hour and a half of being bored stiff.

I have a long list of these.

When i feel like losing friends I'll bring the topic up..

Here's a few that i don't like that are acclaimed by critics, or the public-

1. the big lebowski

2. The shining

3. The matrix (all of them)

4. 2001 a space odyssey

Bohemian Rhapsody, what a missed opportunity.

Probably Elvis too, haven’t seen it but I read that it’s crap & Baz feared a tik-tok backlash from

elvis fans if he made a good film and told the truth , so went with something easy instead

Pearl Harbor. It could be a decent war film, but is utterly ruined by an unnecessary love story. 1/5

Apparently so. I just can't. It's Richard E Grant. He rubs me up the wrong way.

I think you're being kind with 1/5. Much worse than that. Just awful awful awful.

Really don't get why Star Wars gets so much love. The originals were ok, the prequels were so dull, and the sequels were just a retelling of the original movies...

Will also agree that La La Land was awful.

"Taxi Driver. Saw it for the first time last year. Just as it gets going, it ends."

I was waiting for this to pop up. I personally think it's brilliant, but I know people who have watched it for the first time in recent years and have only heard how great it is. I think they're probably expecting a different film and they're also watching it with 2022 eyes and not 1976 eyes. Cinema has changed massively in those 46 years.

That's a very good point. Robert De Niro is good but should have been a longer film.

Tbh, I only watched it for the first time last month and I don't get what people like in it either.

I didn't find a single point of it funny.

Maybe it's aged badly, or maybe it's because I just can't stand Richard E. Grant either.

Although my recollection is that it was widely panned by the critics.

I agree with Lost in Translation and Titanic mentioned by others.
