Don’t think they’ve really been around for a while now?
Argos is shit now anyway, basic items aren’t stocked and the prices are getting silly! Argos used to be reliable for harder to find and basic items and was good value - several times recently John Lewis has been MUCH cheaper for me

"How am I going to circle all the Christmas presents that I’m never going to get?I remember them days same as you my friend still waiting xx "
All I wanted was a mini fridge, a personalised Parker pen, a zippo, a globe drinks cabinet, a talk boy, action man, scalextric, subbuteo, MP3 player, inflatable sofa, chocolate fountain, one of those invisible dogs on a lead, a trampoline, a shed and every power ranger toy ever made… is that too much to ask? |

I was always amazed that Farther Christmas would get his gifts for us from the Argos catalogue.
My parents would make me sit down and write out a list from the laminated book of dreams up to a certain value.
I'm embarrassed to say how old I was when I worked it out. |

Argos have also closed a large number of their stand alone sites and operate instead from a small corner in your local Sainsbury's.
I think Amazon and Ebay have hit Argos hard.
Anyone else on here remember when Argos shops were called Green Shield Redemption Shops? |

"Can see Argos disappearing in the not too distant future Amazon will be the death of them. "
Argos and sainsburys are the same company so I don’t think it’ll go under unless sainsburys does. |

I think there will just be fewer and fewer of them until they just fade away most of the in store ones are very small tucked away in the far corner |

Argos essentially gave us what online shopping does before the internet, which was amazing!
The problem is they never grew and adapted.
They should have (and could have) been what Amazon is now but they lacked the foresight, sat on their arses and didn't change with the times. They became a dinosaur. |
