What gives you joy?

Happiness is a bigger project but we can all have moments of joy.
"
Some times it's not a thing, an event, it's a who.
When I was in a dark place.... people. Or more accurately one person.
Her support, her love, her kindness, her refusal to give up on me, when I'd given up on myself.
One person I still hold responsible for saving my life.
So,in answer to your question....
People. I hope we all have that one person in our lives who'd bring us tears of joy.

"My children"
I get little flutters of joyfulness seeing parents and children really connecting. My heart did a litle leap at the smile a dad gave his daughter when she returned from the loo at the Proms last week.

Beautiful Sunrises and sunsets ,
Good food and company & friends
reading a new book and a nice bubbly bath.
Some old tunes on a playlist.
Just little things really,you have to find happiness where you can really these days . |

A couple of years back our son who lives quite a distance away came with us to visit my dad. He jumped out of the car shook my dad's hand and hugged him. The look of joy on my dad's face was a pleasure to behold. |

It can be hard to access joy at times. Just putting one foot in front of the other can be a challenge. I've been there too.
Have no expectations but notice the little moments when they arrive, if you can. I hope you have some help.

Enjoy the moments, too. Milestones are a great marker, but sometimes just a smile is enough, isn't it?

Waking up before Fox and just lying there watching her sleep.
Slouching on the sofa with the dogs.
Going through old photos of family no longer with us.
Listening to music and getting that 'this song really reminds me of.....' feeling.

Have been thinking about this as there are a couple of issues currently bothering me .
I think weekends away with good friends. Really chatting about things
Feeling like I made a good contribution at work
And meeting sexy fabbers
I am gonna do more of these things until hopefully the things bothering me settle down |

It could be anything - a bite from your favourite chocolate or a quiet empty seat in the park or one of those kisses we all know about but the happiness we derive from such things makes you a satisfied human being. |

Be intentional, having a to-do list can motivate. Relax into seeing the moment. I think we can miss joy by making it a task. |

Tears of joy nothing i wont let myself care about anything enough for that
Happiness is on hold until a miracle happens that never will so thats out of reach also
Now fleeting joy i can do my kids succeeding
Putting big shots on people on the field
Scoring trys
And laughing bring that
Anything more is dangerous dark twice the pride double the fall |

The sheer unadulterated happiness your child gives you when you present them with a brand new and mind blowing experience. It is the sole reason for growing up!   |
