I loved JR Ewing, the new show was great too, will be interesting to see if they can carry on the show without him, doubt it somehow.

Although I haven't watched the new series, I would imagine that the idea would be to make this about the new generation....

I thought he didn't look very well in the new series, but as always he played his part as JR with great aplomb. If I remember rightly, I think he cared for his wife who has dementia and did a lot for charity - an all round good guy, RIP

The best part I saw Larry Hagman play was as an American soldier in the World War 2 based film called The Eagle Has Landed alongside Michael Caine..

His portrayal as the mishapped decision making officer was a true masterpiece in acting.. RIP

he was one of the more loved people in "I dream of jeanie" to one of the most hated villians in "dallas"... he was an TV icon for a huge stretch of his life.. and he made the roles his own...

shame he has passed away....
