"These buggers have hospitalised ten people on one beach alone .
They need to put up nets to stop these attacks "
Next it will be Jaws appearing and eating people from their inflatables in Wales...... |

Technically Tom the people are attacking the fish. They are just minding their business not asking to be stepped on. |

And these buggers attacking..
Over ten attacks on one beach is no coincidence.. the local authority need to do more.. put chemicals in the sea lime would do at a local swimming pool... |

Yes I think that's what they mean
They Bury themselves in the sand and their dorsal fin has a spike on it that you stand on.
It is painful yes but nothing like childbirth. Treatment involves putting foot in very hot water
The reason they are on the increase is simply that more people are in the beaches due to the hot weather and more are going in rock pools where they are most common |

"What's going on here guys "
Just fish doing fish stuff. Nothing fishy.
Well, it is Fishy as it involves fish, but just doing fish stuff, not specifically fishy fish stuff, if you get my drift?
And when I say drift, I mean the drift of my idea rather than a drift net or the movement of something on a body of water.
I hope you're catching this? Well, when I say catching this, I mean am I explaining myself properly rather than catching as in catching the fishy fish or fish who are not being fishy.
On a scale of one to ten, it's not difficult. When I say scale, I mean a system for gauging things rather than fish scales or any other type of fish skin.
Fin. As in the end, not a fin like on a fish, fishy or otherwise.

They've always been around, lil sods. But it's hardly after us, I once stood on a bee and got stung (duh), hardly an attack from the blighter is it?
It's quite easy to avoid a weaver, you either wear beach shoes or you don't go in the water.
Saying that, I'd you're fishing, be careful what you're swinging in before you grab it. Fnarr. |

Put your big boy pants on - harking from Newquay I've stood on them loads of times when out surfing, fishing, swimming - it kinda goes with the territory when you go into they're realm
And as for the pain - it's overrated - no worse than wasp or bumble bee sting (although it does last longer!)
& This is not new - it's been happening since people started going in the sea - I first got nobbled in the early 80's & is a daily event down here |

I guess it depends on the fish, I've seen grown men crying in agony after standing on weevers, but still they refuse to wear water socks so it's their own stupid fault. |

"Gwynedd is a county. Plenty of lovely beaches "
I think he knew that. Tom would catch more if he posted on Facebook rather than here. (Even though it’s NOT a publicly traded entity!!)

"If you spot two, step on the smaller one. Always choose the lesser of two weevils."
It probably will be the Lesser that you encounter around the shore - the Greater Weever is found in deeper waters. |
