I was about 20. It was a call centre job but I didn’t have a computer or a headset. I had a sheet of paper with numbers on and an old school landline (and this wasn’t because I’m old before you start Steve!)
I’d been there about a week and I went for a pint on my break and just stayed in the pud and never went back |

"16, started at Lightwater Valley and lasted one day. They were gonna make dress up as the mascot the next day, yeah right! "
I would have paid double just to see that |

I don't think I have actually ever quit a job. I have had a few jobs where fixed term contracts has come to an end and then been transfered fron agency to full time staff in my current job well over twenty years ago. Its just as well as I'm terrible at interviews. |

16. Quit Clarks shoe shop as boss didn't agree to me coming in an hour late the next day.
I wanted to go to a party that night. He said it wasn't a valid excuse. I told him he wasn't a valid excuse and I walked out. |

54. Worked in various roles for the same company group for 34 years and walked away due to lack of appreciation and the fact they decided to acknowledge all the long standing staff members and completely forgot about me.
I handed in my notice the following week. |

I think I was 17, working in a burger place for the summer, originally for 2 shifts a week. Then a new manager came in and was insecure basically, and got rid of nearly everyone who was there before her, and was quite a bully to new starters so they were really understaffed. She said I had to work 7 days a week, and I felt so pressured that the only reason I could think of to decline was to make up a story that I had failed my exams and had to do resits... She then started bullying me saying it wasn't her fault I was thick and that I had to do all the extra shifts.
Not long after that she was in the kitchen yelling at everyone and telling them not to bother coming in again, so I piped up 'do I still have to come in?' and she yelled at me "No" so we all got fired, basically everyone that was there that day.
It closed down not long after that. |

22. I was working in a bank and it was a shitty, shitty job on shitty money.
I'd been there as a temp for 11 months and they told me that was as long as I could temp there, I either had to go perm or leave.
Bye then! |
