Sooooooooooooooo sad... . My mum hated the circus and zoo's as she thought they were cruel so wasnever taken to either... I have to agree with her who allows such a beautiful creature be abused in such a way...

Wasn't this years ago? Or is there another recent one?

There was an Annie that appeared on Roar the children's program from Longleat.

I'm not going to google it as it breaks my heart to think that a human could do such evil to such a trusting animal

She was shown on the news tonight and for being 60 years old, looks happy and well cared for (I had to close my eyes at the actual abuse though) but at least she is now in a happy place!!

It upset me so much to see the clip on the news, then I got really angry and thought "I'd love to kick him like he's kicking her!" which for a not at all violent person was quite scary and upset me even more.

I've seen elephants up close when I visited Nepal and it must take someone brainless to do that to one! I know the poor thing will be totally conditioned and probably very docile, but I wouldn't want to mess with an elephant! Not like it won't hurt you if it did turn!

I always cry when watching Dumbo where his mum gets chained up for being mad and she sings Baby of Mine cradling him through the bars.

I wept reading about Annie today, can't bear to watch any video clips.

im glad im not the only one, i have had some right nasty comments in the past because i wont take my kids to ther zoo, like im some kind of synyster mum

I just cant take them as i find anicals behind bars is cruel

I know some do some good work with breeding endangered animals but at the end of the day all zoo animals was at some point stolen from the wild the ones we have now are just descendants of those and by right should be wild

what i hate the most are birds in cages, birds have wings for a reason

My mum said she hated animals in cages she said they should never be that way.. It even went so far that any school trips to zoo's she said no.. I went to Dudley zoo not so long ago and I wanted to let the animals go.. I found it shocking...
