What really helps? It's too hot for heat pads, I've taken ibuprofen, I take other stronger pain meds...
I honestly thought they'd get easier as I got older but they're the worst they've ever been!
Alternative remedies?

Sorry to hear you're suffering.
I suffered, and now thankful no more.
I found gentle exercise helped, like walking or stretches.
Buscopan helped also and that was recommended my a nurse, it relieved the cramping.

Obviously no first hand experience but I broke my leg about 2 years ago and started taking CDB gummies for the pain and inflammation post surgery.
My girlfriend at the time had bad period pains and started taking the CBD gummies too. She still swears by them. |

"Feel your pain OP. The Pill was the only thing that sorted mine out.
Prior to that they were "lie on the pavement" excruciating. "
I'm no good with anything that has hormones in, had the depo which stopped periods but affected mental health |

I second buscopan really does ease things. Not that it helps helps. But I track my cycle so I understand the mental health aspects of it or now I know when the most painful days are so I know the end is in sight when it happens. It's also not a bad thing to have to show your GP if needs be |

I have endo heat makes things worse in my experience. I don’t have periods now as I finally have a sensible dr!
My advice? Alcohol (not excessive) and a hot water bottle filled with COLD water applied to base of spine - hope that helps it sucks I know |

"Horrific isn’t it? Try solpadeine max soluble if you haven’t already. X"
Only if you've not already had paracetamol. You can mix parecetamol with codeine based painkillers and NSAIDs (aspirin and ibuprofen) but be careful not to overdose on any of these groups. For example, if you've had ibuprofen taking Solpadeine (paracetamol and codeine mix) is OK, taking it after another tablet containing codeine or paracetamol isn't. Paracetamol poisoning is cumulative and causes irreversible damage, it's really not a nice drug but it is often mixed with others and you may not realise you've had it.

I suffered for years, can't take the pill, I have poly cystic overies, get tested for that! I'm classed as all female as no testosterone level where most pco sufferers are opposite and get hairy etc, Dr put me on marina coil that was a god send for about 8 yrs. Body has naturally aborted it and body seems to be readjusting to normality. I've taken up yoga, drink 2 ltrs of water a day and cut out processed foods and this has helped significantly |

No other advice I'm afraid. I use ibuprofen and a hot water bottle. Curling up on the sofa and moaning makes me feel better but doesn't take the pain away chocolate is a comfort though. Hope it settles for you soon x

Mr"
I already take paracetamol along side tramadol. So I don't like using anything else with it in for that reason. |

My periods are long gone, but I can vouch for the above mentioned solpadeine that Clarissa suggests..they are the best for really acute pain. I always have a box on standby. Hope you're not suffering for too long OP. Sending hugs |

No help for right now, but the Mirena IUS is a game changer.
If I remember correctly, roller skating in white jeans cures all menstrual ills.
Feel better soon beaut x |

Yeah I know it stops periods for a lot of people but hormones don't usually agree with me unfortunately! |

This is such good advice have you tried tracking your cycle and starting pain relief/ buscopan CBD before the pain starts. I track pain for other problems and always try to start pain relief before it becomes chronic.
Also have you tried alcohole. In moderation of corse but can help relax. |

Tens machine.
I find I take too many painkillers for headaches and cramps so wanted something else.
I wouldn't be without it, especially when it's too hot for a hot water bottle.
I get pain in my back and stomach, my little machine has 4 stick ons and I honestly couldn't get through without it.
Hope you find something that eases it for ya x |

Fair enough.
You could also try a lavender and calendula lukewarm bath |

My wife had very similar with her periods. A nurse suggested that she come off the pill and try the coil instead. Whilst the paid didnt go away completely, the pain she was feeling decreased significantly. obviously its no guarantee that it will work for everyone, but maybe worth having a chat. |
