Had to stop a lady in a 4x4 reversing over her neighbours dog the other day as she wasn't looking.
Mind you it could of even been hers as it was going in the joint drive she was pulling out off.
No thanks just a filthy look.
Mind you the fact i was stood behind the bloomin thing with my children didn't empress me either |

"Parking sensors make people lazy.
You can't beat a proper look round "
Oh I look round too, but I have absolutely no sense of direction or distance when in reverse.
In my case, they are definately a safety net (or not, as highlighted above ) |

He was having a bad day - he hit a pheasant at 60mph and damaged his front bumper that afternoon, then damaged the rear one (and the house!) when he got home!!! |

never in a million years would i say that you should replace looking around and using your eyes/other senors to park a car.. just am stunned this woman totally missed the fact my car was directly behind her and like i said she reversed squarely into the side of my car.
The sensors would have gone ballistic and she might have looked before releasing the handbreak.. |

Sorry to hear your tale of woe CnS. Xxx
Reversing is one of those things where people learn a specific part to pass a test, and then never use again. And then like all skills that are not used they are forgotten.
It really annoys me most in car parks where people drive forwards into spaces, not caring that they're not straight and then abandon it. Everyone else then has to follow suit or risk getting their car scraped. I often rant about this and people say its because they don't like reversing and can't do it properly. Then hand back your fucking license and make room on the roads for those who can.
My argument to them about parking is this, But you then have to reverse out of the space into an aisle where you can't see what's coming as your vision is obscured by cars and therefore more difficult.
And people who reverse out of driveways onto main roads, Satan fucking help me the worst sort of bastard who needs their head cutting off and stuffing up their considerable sized arses. |

I work in a house on a very very busy main road and so you best cut my head off and stuff it up my considerable sized arse because always have to reverse off due to other drivers not being patient enough to allow anyone who drives the bus time to reverse into drive ! |

I have sensors and a camera, however I do not rely on these and very rarely listen or look at the display....I prefer to judge myself, as 9/10 the sensors are over sensitive and beep like mad when you do have some room to go.
My camera though is very accurate but as I know my car well, and being a 4x4 it is quite long, I have always been good at reversing, and can get in another car (minus the sensors or camera) and still not have a problem.
Sorry to hear that Cute, it is just plain stupidness on the drivers part. |

I have to drive into spaces in car parks at the supermarket because access into the rear of my car is through two little doors at the back which need space to open up, not really practical if another car is up my rear.
I do prefer to reverse when parallel parking by the roadside, and no I don't have sensors. |
