 I discovered a lovely new cafe/patisserie recently and though I haf not had one I saw other people having one and looked amazing. Just how it should be, not those cut down versions you get sometimes. I think I am going to book myself in for one. |

Hotel Gotham in Manchester know how to make an afternoon tea special, the pianist playing in the corner, the waiter producing a box of tea leaves for you to smell before you choose, the waiter popping the napkin over your knee. Lovely ambience. The food was nice as well  |

Our most recent was at a very posh hotel nearby. We took my mum and dad. A uniformed doorman guided us in, we were seated on plush sofas in one of a few small lounge areas and served with our choice of tea blend, finger sandwiches, warm scones sprinkled with icing sugar with jam and cream and a selection of tiny but exquisite cakes. |
