Did any local to Birmingham members here go to any of the events or even the closing ceremony in Birmingham for these commonwealth games…

Personally I didn’t but friends/family did & my social media lines are full of congratulations Birmingham posts….

Coventry

I don't know anyone who went. In fact the only local people I know of there were only there because they were working it.

Birmingham

Nope.

The idea of having a commonwealth is anachronistic to me.

Time to let go of stolen things.

I volunteered at the games but saw lots of friends either in person or on social media that went. They were the most attended games to date and a real success story for Birmingham!

wolverhampton

Went to the cricket at Edgbaston twice, went to the diving in Smethwick, the beach volleyball at Smithfield, the cycling in Wolverhampton (free) and my highlight the athletics on Saturday night.

An awesome games and Birmingham delivered, I’m so proud of my City.

Not all that North of North London

I had a few friends working there as gamesmakers, another friend working as a masseuse and a few as officials at the velodrome. Know loads of people that went and watched different events.

As an exiled Brummie thar doesn't think to fondly of his hometown it's been fabulous to watch and made me strangely proud and a little nostalgic for Birmingham
